I purchased Apple EarPods (USB-C) from Tata CLiQ on 30 May 2026 for 71, 400 (Order ID:[protected].
The product was later confirmed to be counterfeit by an Apple Authorised Service Centre (F1 Info Solutions & Services Pvt. Ltd., Hubballi). The service centre issued a written service delivery challan stating "Non Genuine EarPods" and denied service because the product was not genuine.
Evidence available:
• Apple Authorised Service Centre job sheet/challan confirming the product is non-genuine.
• Product box and serial number photographs.
• Video recording of the product and packaging.
• Purchase invoice and order details.
After repeated follow-ups, Tata CLiQ refunded the purchase amount (F1300 via UPI and 7100 CLiQ Cash). However, no compensation was provided despite the inconvenience, time, travel expenses, and distress caused by receiving a counterfeit product sold through their platform.
My concern is not the refund, which has already been received. My concern is that a counterfeit Apple product was supplied through Tata CLiQ, creating a serious consumer trust and product authenticity issue.
Relief Requested:
1. Compensation of R3, 600 for inconvenience, harassment, and time spent resolving the matter.
2. Investigation of the seller and supply chain responsible for the counterfeit product.
3. Appropriate action to prevent similar counterfeit products from being sold to other consumers.
This complaint is supported by documentary evidence from an Apple Authorised Service Centre confirming the product is not genuine.
