My old parents went to Balaji Motors Aundh to service their Bolt Diesel and they had two specific complaints: One was that the gears were hard and other was, the high beam & low beam fuse in the fuse box used to burn every now and then & they had already changed the fuse thrice. The service advisor ( Gyanoba Mirkale ) gave them an estimate of 21k and then called them the third day and told them that it will be 43000. So finally I decided to get in touch with this advisor and after confronting him I got to know that he is unnecessary changing other parts of the car and increasing the bill and also some of the things he mentioned didn't make any sense for example, he told me that changing the timing change is costing 9500. I checked with a friend who has a spare shop and he told me that the timing chain of bolt & zest is for 2.5k & you can count 1k more as labor charges to the max, he changed both the projectors bulbs and front wipers when both the things( bulbs & wipers) were perfectly fine and were not even told him to changed, I Seriously don't understand how this Mirkale was being so pathetic & illogical. And, finally after the confrontation when he understood that I have a knowledge about the prices of parts he put out a bill of 25k and didn't even solve the main issues for which the car was given for servicing which is the high beam fuse issue and gear issue. To every question about the part, he was like " I have called & only then changed everything". That answer was so easy for him as he also very well understood that my father didn't understand much about the car plus my other question is how can an estimate increased by almost double the price on third day!, I understand that once the actual car is taken on ramp the mechanic understand the issues better and then the prices get increased but in my scenario he didn’t even addressed the actual issues reported by the customer and changed other parts which were I believe perfectly well as my father didn’t have any other complaint than the ones mentioned above and still he mentioned double rate which is 43k!!!.. I have myself worked for a software company that makes software for showrooms & service centers. I am well aware about the shady practices of the service advisors like Mirkale, they don't call customers to inform about the part fixes but to understand the spending capacity of the customer. Seriously, looking at the ratings of this service center I am shocked! Total dissatisfaction with Balaji Motors.
P.S: I have attached the initial estimate given to my parents on the 1st day and the final bill( in white) given at the end of the servicing without doing the actual work for which the car was given to servicing. Also, in the pink snap of the rough job card you can see his estimate for the timing chain. I can share the whole service bill if anybody wants to verify my claim.
