Tata Motors — Customer support services

Hello,

My name is Abdul Rasheed. I had bought a tata altroz car on 28th Jan 21. My first service was due on 28th Mar and I went for the same on 27th Mar. The following are my concerns with regards to service experience which I want to highlight so that it comes to the knowledge to tata senior executives.

1. The moment I entered the service centre, I was handed a bill of Rs 1400/- without even explaining anything about the charges. When I further enquired on myself, then I was told that charges are for sanitisation, polishing and some sort of oil additive. I asked that as per the service schedule my first service is supposed to be free and there is nothing mentioned in the service book for which they are charging, but the service centre executive forced me and told that these are mandatory charges which I have to pay.

2. I was not at all asked whether I am facing any difficulty with the car or do I have any concern which I want to make them aware before the service. The people were in a hurry to get the car washed and hand it over to me and get the charges paid for which they have made the bill.

3. Again, I myself approached the service manager and told him and that I m experiencing problems with the AC flow as the AC continuously throws air on the leg no matter what is the AC selection is. ( the same thing has been informed to the showroom also from where I have bought the car). They checked the same and acknowledged about the fault. After that they said that they dont have the spare parts to get the fault rectified and advised me to go to any big dealer when my next service will be due i.e after 6 months. Neither there was any endeavour by the service manager to get the spare part demanded from the company and get the fault rectified nor there was any assurance given to me.

4. During the initial car delivery i.e on 28th Jan, I got the music system installed from the showroom only, but the type of work and installation that they have done was very pathetic. They paid no attention about the general cleanliness of the car and were doing the work like an inexperienced. The installation was semi complete as I was supposed to get a USB cable along with the system which I didnt. Also, the stock wiring of the car was cut whereas they were supposed to use coupler or scotch locks for the electrical connection. I complained about the same to the showroom, but havent got any reply on the same.

5. This initial experience of two months with tata motors has been extremely bad. No doubt the car is good with a 5 star rating ( safety is paramount), but the service executives who are dealing with customers are worst in comparison to other car brand dealers. I have genuinely lost hope in the tata motors as these type of concerns have not been faced by any of my known people who are in possession of other brand cars.

Its humble request to please look into the matter, as these type of incidences are degrading the name to TATA MOTORS.
When tata motors is paying so much attention in making the best safety rated car of India, then why not the same thing is being applied to the training of showroom managers or service managers.
