[Resolved]  Tata Motors — dealer sales complaint and no response from tata motors cust care

This is with regards to a tigor xz (O) petrol purchased by me in july 18.
I must say that my experience this far has been far from satisfactory; let alone it being good. I feel thoroughly cheated by the dealer from whom i made the purchase. There are multiple issues which are listed below:
1. I was taken to the dealer m/s. Deogiri auto by a friend who had purchased a nexon and recommended tata to me. We both saw the vehicle on display and took a test drive. After a few days, i decided to book the vehicle. Before booking, we told the dealer that we wish to book under the referral program of tata motors after which the dealer sales rep took all details of my friend’s nexon including photocopies of documents and mentioned that tata motors will directly contact us for the referral gift voucher. We accepted the same in good faith. Even at the time of delivery, i checked with the sales rep who said that the vehicle was booked under referral program and that principal company will directly contact regarding the same. After a few days on calling the tollfree number, i was told that my number didn’t show in the list of referrals in their system and i was not under the program. I had spoken to ms. Nikita on 4th aug 2018 from the call centre. She said that she would speak to the dealer and get back. I am still waiting till date.
2. On record, the dealer has delivered the vehicle on 30th june whereas the actual delivery took place 20 days later. Why was this done? Why wasn’t actual date shown as delivery date?
3. I had given my old vehicle in exchange for which i was given a rs. 15000 exchange bonus. When the showroom person came to collect delivery of the old vehicle, the paper on which he asked me to sign, mentioned rs. 25000. He told me that it was by mistake and corrected it in front of me after which i signed the same. When i had gone to take delivery of the vehicle, i demanded copies of all documents that i had signed related to the old car that i had handed over. They flatly refused to do so saying that this is never given to any customer. I then refused to accept delivery after which they finally gave me photocopies. Again, on this the previous figure of rs. 15000 was erased using white ink and changed for rs. 25000. When i demanded the reason, they again said that it was by mistake and again put white ink and made it rs. 15000. I have a photocopy showing rs. 15000. That this change was done willfully as can be easily made out from my above description. Clearly this is to mislead the customer and maybe tata motors also; else why would they take pains to change it over and over again. I am quite sure that the amount has again been changed after me accepting delivery
4. My previous vehicle which i gave in buy back had a comprehensive insurance that was taken approximately 3 months earlier. It had 50% ncb on it which i mentioned that i will want to transfer to the new vehicle. I didn’t know that for ncb certificate, the original policy document was required, and i in good faith, handed over the same while giving the old vehicle. Later on when i asked for it back, they refused to give it saying that the person who had taken the vehicle, had taken it basis the comprehensive insurance and that he wanted to transfer it in his name. Since when the value of a car is based on insurance? As it is, the vehicle was sold for a song at only rs. 30000 which is higher than even scrap value. My previous insurer had asked me to deposit the original policy document so that they could cancel it and refund the balance amount to me. I had to forgo the refund as i was not able to provide the original document. I was forced to concede to the dealer at the time as he refused to move an inch and just lay back as the car had already been delivered on paper and he was the delivery is getting delayed on your account only and we cannot do anything. Finally, i only had to budge. How do i get reimbursed for the loss?
5. At the time of booking, i was promised free 3m teflon coating and anti-rust treatment along with warranty card for the same. At the time of delivery, i was told that the warranty card is not ready and will come in a day and that he’ll deliver it to me. To my shock, it was some other warranty card with no mention of 3m. On being asked, i was told that products used were to be 3m and that warranty card would be of distributor and that i’ll get warranty from deogiri only. On the warranty card, there is no mention of 3m products being used too! Also, i was promised window visors at the time of booking which later he said was not committed.
6. The car brochure given to me mentioned a rear power outlet. This is missing. I was told that they’ll come back to me. I’m still waiting…
7. I was given a driver hand rest. This seems to have an issue as its height is more than the gear due to which it’s a slight discomfort. The dealer said that he’d check and come back to me and he’ll remove it and refund it if needed. For this also i have been waiting ever since.
8. The quality of the carpet lamination leaves lot to be desired. Just because it is given foc, doesn’t mean that just about anything can be given.
9. Some items such as hand rest and fast tag were billed to my company at my request as i wanted to claim gst input credit. On checking the gst portal, i have seen that the same too has not been done. Again i have suffered a loss.
10. I was not given any infotainment manual at all along with the car. Also, i haven’t been given any receipts of the amounts paid except for the initial down payment at the time of booking.
11. The pricing shown to me shown at the time of test drive and booking included an insurance amount of almost rs. 30000 whereas the actual insurance was only rs. 12000 approx. The illustration included zero dep charges. I got the same after haggling with the concerned person there and later was told that it was given basis a special approval. Why was i misled with rs. 18000 extra shown in the offer? Was something else due and i was given something else? How to find out? Why was zero dep given after haggling and arguments?
This entire episode is a story of fudged records, unkept promises and false commitments.
I have also logged a complaint with tata motors helpline complaint helpdesk on 12th aug 2018. Reference number is 1-[protected].
The only effect of this complaint was that i received a call of a ms. Manisha from deogiri twice. She called and understood all the issues and promised to callback. I haven’t heard from her till date after that. Only thing she sent was; a mail containing unsigned and unstamped receipts which have no standing. I again called the tollfree helpline on 25th aug. The lady on call told me that she’ll try to connect me to the tsm who handles deogiri account, but his number is switched off. If i want, she can raise a fresh complaint. Finally, after much haggling, she gave me his number. I have tried it twice, but both times, it was switched off.
I have again raised a complaint from the tata motors customer service app on 31st aug. The reference number is 1-[protected]. Yet to hear from someone on this till now.
There are multiple issues for which i feel that i would be very reasonable in expecting a proper resolution.
