I purchased the Tata Altroz XZ Petrol in December 2020 from Kamal and Company, Jaipur, Rajasthan and the running is approximately of 27000 kms. After sometime I felt cracking sound from dashboard or from gates when driving on rough roads, as if some nut bolts are not properly fitted in the Car. The said noise was very much annoying. I complained in second or third free service when my car was in warranty and the service center said some nuts are loosely fixed and accordingly they fixed the problem. But the sound was there as it is. Service centre tried to convince me to ignore it which is not possible.
Whenever I tried to complain again for the said issue the service center guys told me to get it check up on next service schedule. Accordingly when I went for my scheduled service on 26/11/2022 to Kamal and Company, Jaipur, Rajasthan, it was being informed that the said service center is not in operation as it has withdrawn the services for Tata Motors for warrantied cars. Hence on 29/11/2022 I visited another service center authorised for Tata Motors for the said service and it was informed to me that my warranty got expired on 27/11/2022 itself and the nosie coming from the dashboard is actually coming from the steering column and as the car does not have extended warranty hence the price for said steering column part is 60, 000/-. approximately.
To my utter shock, I could not beleive that in just running of 27, 000 kms or in 2 years when I haven't met with an accident or never ever have claimed the OD insurance, how can the steering column be damaged when TATA Motors claim to have produced best cars in this segment.
I am extremely disappointed with the service provided by the prior service center as they did not check the car properly. Had they been checked my car properly I would have replaced the damaged part when my car was in warranty.
