Tata Motors — Tata Motors – Cancellation of Car Booking | |||
Dear all, I had booked a Tata Zest from Rathod Motors, Vapi. But due to some unavoidable circumstances, we would not be able to proceed with the booking and wish to go for cancellation. When inquired with the same from dealer they told us that cancellation charges would be Rs 10, 000. Further on contacting tata Motors, they promised no such charges shall be deducted and the dealer will refund the full amount and they shared me the details of Gujarat Regional office to contact further on the issue and following is the reply received from them “It was mentioned in the Dealership Booking Policy that 10000/- cancellation charge shall be applicable in case of booking cancellation. Also your vehicle was held in stock by the dealer for a period of 1 month, post which you cancelled the booking.Hence, cancellation charge shall be levied.” Infact I cancelled the booking before the date of delivery but as they mentioned that 10, 000 charges shall be levied, I sought help of Tata Customer Care and due to their inefficiency and late replies, I pose these two questions to you: 1) Is this charge of Rs. 10, 000/- valid and legal? 2) I contacted Tata on 17/01/2015 and the final reply to this I got on 09/03/2015.
