The purpose of this complaint is to bring to your notice the illegal and unauthorized construction in the duct area between the flats a203 and a204 of castalia a wing, the walk, hiranandani estate, ghodbunder road, thane-400607. The owner of flat a-203, mr. Amit upadhaya has illegaly occupied the duct area and additionally constructed 2 rooms by putting a slab in the duct area. The duct area is the open space between 2 flats and does not cannot be converted to a usable area. The builder has not sold this area to anyone. By doing so he has not only endangered the structural stability of the building but has also put the lives of the people staying the building to high risk specially on the 2nd floor.
I have attached the floor plan and the entire area marked in red is the one where unauthorized construction has been carried out. The owner of a203 is also the treasurer of the castalia chs and is trying to use his position to defend his act. There are cracks in our flat a204 because of the construction activity done by him and we feel very unsafe with such construction adjacent to our flat.
The builder has already taken an undertaking from each of the flat owner at the time of possession that they will not be doing any alterations in the flat and the duct area/open spaces.
Request the tmc to take appropriate action against such people who are doing illegal and unauthorized construction in the building and putting everyones life at risk.
The illegal construction should be brought down and the original duct area should be restored. They should be heavily penalised for carrying out such construction and appropriate legal action should be taken against the culprits.
