My Grievance:(Complain against unfair practices prevailing in Broadband Services in my area) I am a resident of Gaurav Paradise, Beverly Park, Mira Road East, Thane. I wish to avail Broadband connection. I enquired for the local provider of reputed companies like Hathaway, Tata, Tikona, Airtel, Reliance etc. To my surprise only a selected few offered the services in my area, fewer of them in my locality and only one of them in my building. (barring Reliance which provides its own Wi Pod device) After a research and talks with few local providers i came to conclusion that the broadband services are intentionally limited to one provider in one single building. (In this case- Five Network (Joister broadband). However i decided to proceed with the same and approached the local vendor of same- Tu Pac Broadband located near Cinemax, Mira Road. On speaking to its owner Mr. Vijay Morya- the arrogant of being the only provider in the building was reflected after he denied to offer any explanation of internet provider's bad reviews online. He said he doesn't bother to offer any explanation. With no option i went ahead and took the connection, and now in need of broadband services i have to tolerate the unprofessional behaviour of the firm including data of 20 GB getting exhausted on first day. The issue that bothers me is that 1.why in this Digital India when customers have millions and zillions of options in all products, why in the broadband, customers are being offered a fixed choice, isnt it a violation of basic right as a customer to get options. 2. How come any one premise/building/locality has been allotted to a fixed broadband service in a region- is it something that government is aware of - if yes then why has it been done and if no then we expect prompt action as its an illegal practice curbing the right of a citizen to have access to all internet service providers.
