I HAD DEPOSITED AN AMOUNT OF RS 10 LACS WITH THE COMPANY AS FIXED DEPOSIT AGAINST FDR NO UL/FD/B/043348 ON 28/05/2010 FOR 1 YEAR. THE FD MATURED ON 28/05/2011.
BUT COMPANY IS YET TO REFUND THE PRINCIPAL AMOUNT AS REQUESTED BY ME. I SENT ON 28/06/2011 THE FDR DULY DISCHARGED TO THE COMPANY FOR REFUND OF THE
PRINCIPAL AMOUNT. I COULD NOT SEND THE SAME 21DAYS PRIOR TO MATURITY AS REQUIRED BY THE COMPANY DUE TO UNAVOIDABLE CIRCUMSTANCES.
SINCE I SENT BACK THE FDFR TO COMPANY FOR REDEMPTION, I HAD RECEIVED INNUMBERABLE CALLS FROM REPRESENTATIVES OF THE COMPANY ENQUIRING WHETHER I WOULD
LIKE TO RENEW THE FD INSTEAD OF REDEMPTION AND ON EACH OCCASION I HAD TOLD THEM THAT I AM NOT INTERESTED TO RENEW THE FD SINCE I NEED THE PRINCIPAL AMOUNT
TO FULFILL MY SOME OTHER OBLIGATION. I HAD SENT MAILS TO THE COMPANY FOR THE REFUND FOLLOWED BY A REGISTERED LETTER REQUESTING FOR REFUND OF THE
PRINCIPAL AMOUNT WITH APPROPRIATE INTEREST. I AM YET TO HEAR FROM THEM IN THIS REGARD AND COMPANY HAS NOT REFUNDED THE PRINCIPAL AMOUNT EVEN AFTER
MORE THAN 3 MONTHS SINCE MATURITY. WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE YOUR HELP. THANKING YOU, SINCERELY DR DHURJATI GUPTA

I held a fixed deposit with Unitech limited which matured on 1st September 2011. I returned the FD certificate to Unitech 1 month back with instructions to return the complete amount (principal + interest). Strangely I just received a cheque for interest with no mention of principal amount anywhere. If you are reading this, please send me a cheque for the principal amount at the earliest as well. My FDR no. is UL/FD/B/004258.

We had invested Rs. 1,00,00/- (One Lakh only) in UNITECH LTD, 6, Community Centre, Saket, New Delhi 110017. UNITECH LTD issued us a FIXED DEPOSIT RECEIPT FDR NO. UL/FD/B/061613 DATED 13/08/2010, ACCOUNT NO. 077604 FOR RS. 1,00,000/- Maturity Date- August 12, 2011, Maturity Amount Rs. 1,11,152/- for a period of 1 year at 11% interest rate.
Since the Maturity Date was August 12, 2011, the ORIGINAL FDR NO. UL/FD/B/061613 DATED 13/08/2010, ACCOUNT NO. 077604 was duly signed and discharged by both the depositors and sent to UNITECH LTD, 6, Community Centre, Saket, New Delhi 110017, asking for payment on the due date, almost a month before the due date by Speed Post EM[protected]IN dated 15/07/2011 and received by UNITECH LTD on July 18, 2011. The SPEED POST TRACKING MOVEMENT confirms that UNITECH LTD had received the ORIGINAL FIXED DEPOSIT RECEIPT FDR NO. UL/FD/B/061613.
On 06/08/2011, UNITECH LTD sent a Speed Post letter enclosing a Cheque for the Interest Amount of Rs. 11,152/- (Eleven Thousand One Hundred Fifty Two). They have very cleverly retained the Principal Amount of Rs. 1,00,000/- and are refusing to send the Principal Amount of Rs. 1,00,000/- inspite of my letters dated July 15, 2011, August 15, 2011, August 16, 2011 and August 17, 2011 asking for the Principal Amount of Rs. 1,00,000/-

This is ridiculuous. My fixed deposit receipt duly discharged was received by you'll on 22nd July, 2011. You had told me normally it takes 21 days, you will try and get it done earlier, but now 28 days are over, still no sight of our fixed deposit maturity cheque. Last week when we called up, we were given the POD No. Only for the interest cheque, even that has not been received by us.
Now we are going to Consumer Forum and also Unfair Trade Practices Forum. We know lot of people over there. We will do the needful. We are also going to claim for the interest for the delayed period. We understand how bad your management pratices are. We are very annoyed with M/s. UNITECH LIMITED.
Now we are not going to keep quiet in this matter.

Hello Forum Readers

We had booked a property in Unitech Horizon Project in Greater Noida in 2006. The possession of the property per the contract was to be given by 2008. However it has been 3 years delay . The interest cost is much more than the 5Rs/ SQft / Month that Unitech has agreed to deduct in the final settlement amount. The project repossession is delayed 4 times in the last 2 years.

Need help in getting some justice from the builder and interest cost for the period the property is delayed should be borne by the builder.

I had sent the FD for discharge/repayment via Professional courier on May 31 2011 and I have received the Proof Of Delivery from the courier company. The FD has matured on 16th June 2011. Yesterday I have received a cheque from Unitech just for the interest amount only, What happened to the THE PRINCIPAL AMOUNT? Will I ever get back my principal amount. Calls to the numbers listed are not getting answered.

What course of action/option is available to me?

My three Fixed Deposits with FDR Nos. 0360640, 036663,0442614 which have matured for payments on 10 March11,19 APRIL 11 AND 22 JUNE 11 respectively but the MATURITY AMOUNTS HAVE YET NOT BEEN PAID TO ME THOUGH FOR THE FIRST TWO DEPOSITS more yhan three months are over. In fact there is no response from the company. We are senior citizens .Will somebody could take it with the company for urgent payment!

As per commitment for the company FD (Unitech Ltd.) the interest for the year (Qtrly)- Post dated cheque of the Financial year 2011-12 has not been received yet ,although 1st qarter of the year passed. Over phone , the response of the company is not satisfactory.I, am facing the problem since last year.This complain must be taken care off.

Please read on to see how Unitech has cheated me.
What is more surprising is the fact that these people are advertising daily for new projects and luring innocent investors.
It happens only in India

That you being a Company duly constituted under the Companies Act and claim to be in the business of Real Estate Development in various parts of the country. That you have been advertising in different national news papers about launch of your residential and commercial projects inviting general public to invest in your ventures.

That in the year 2008 you launched a project in the name o[censored]NIWORLD CITY at Greater Noida inviting applications for allotment of residential flats, in this scheme my clients were also induced to invest on the false assurances of yours. That in the month of June, 2008 my clients were allotted a flat vide allotment letter dated 04/06/2008, my clients were allotted Apartment No. 0204 on second floor in Tower 17 in Uniworld City - Capella, Greater Noida.

That the said apartment was allotted at total sum of Rs. 69,39,986/- (Sixty Nine Lacs Thirty Nine Thousand Nine Hundred Eighty Six Only) out of which a sum of Rs. 4,00,000/- (Rupees Four Lacs Only) where paid by my clients on ______ vide cheque No. 397275 drawn on HDFC bank dated 19/5/2008 , a receipt against the said payment was issued in the name of my clients dated 21/06/2008 and Rs. 231125/-(two lacs thirty one thousand and twenty five) vide cheque No. 994004 of HDFC Bank, dated 31//5/2008.

That at the time of booking my clients were informed that under a subvention scheme (Baisakhi offer) ICICI bank will disburse a loan for the above property and as my client agreed and signed a tripartite agreement between your company, ICICI Bank and my clients dated 08/07/2008. That as per the terms of the agreement ICICI Home Finance disbursed a loan of Rs. 60,15000=00 on 05/07/2008. That in the above agreement regarding payment of interest amount the loan amount released by ICICI HFC Ltd., for a period commencing from 1/7/2008 to 20//2011 was signed by my clients , Unitech and Mr. Sachin Garg, Branch Credit Manager of ICICI HFC Ltd.

That you assured my clients that the possession of the above said flat shall be given latest by 40 months from 09/06/2008 and you kept on telling my clients that the project is going on as per schedule. That on believing on your false assurances my clients personally never visited the project site and waited to get the possession of the said flat on time. That in between you started avoiding my clients communications and stopped sending any information or updates on the said project this raised a suspicion in my clients mind hence on the 02/11/2010, my clients visited the site of the said project and to their utter dismay they were informed by the security personnel that the Uniworld project had never taken off and when my clients tried to meet any of the company officials at site they were told that no one from the company visits the present site and they even do not have the site office.

That shocked and dejected my clients then approached your Noida office on 02/11/2010 and after much persuasion one of the official of your company Ms. Jasleen Singh (Customer Relations) agreed to meet my clients. That the said official for the first time admitted before my clients that the said project was scrapped and never took off. That on hearing this my clients protested and raised the question that why were they not informed and at that time said Ms. Jasleen Singh offered a alternative flat in their other project to the members who had booked at Capella.

That in furtherance to their discussions Ms Jasleen Singh sent an email about the alternative flats in your different projects. That my clients evaluated the said alternatives suggested by your official and declined to accept any of them as they were far inferior to the one my clients opted for. That my clients opted for the present project because of the location and quality of the said project as projected by you hence it was not acceptable to my clients to shift to any other location.

That since my clients declined your offer of alternative accommodation you have been avoiding all communications from my clients side and even your officials refused to meet or talk to my clients on this issue. That on 23/11/2010 my clients sent out a letter to you via registered post and a copy of the same was sent to ICICI Home loan Department but you have not sent any reply to their letters.

That from the month of November my clients started receiving calls from ICICI collection branch for payments of installments hence having apprehensions in mind my clients brought a statement of their loan account from ICICI bank and found out that your company had not paid the EMI as per the agreement dated for October 2010. That because of your negligence my clients are being harassed by frequent calls from ICICI collections department without any fault on their part.

That by your conduct and acts it seems that you have willfully cheated my clients and have induced them to invest in your project which never took off and have misappropriated my clients hard earned money. That you have criminally breached the trust of my clients and have played fraud on them by giving false assurances to them of handing over the possession of a flat in the above said project. It seems that from the very beginning your intensions were to cheat my clients. That my client reserve the right to bring further facts, contend claims as so desire at appropriate time.

That you all the above mentioned addressee are responsible for the day today working o[censored]NITECH LIMITED. And in the backdrop of above said developments and the various communications both written and oral made to you in this regard of which my client has received no reply, I hereby call upon you to pay within a period of 15 days from the date of receipt of this notice:
a. a sum of Rs. 788905(Rupees Seven Lacs eighty eight thousand nine hundred and five only) along with the interest at the rate of _10% p.a. calculated from the date of payment till realization and in addition;

b. a sum of Rs. _______ (Rupees ______ only) and compensation for delay @ 1.25% p.m. of the total value of the FLAT w.e.f. 04/06/2008 till the date of actual payment
Please take notice that in the event of you not complying with the above said I have definite instructions from my client to initiate appropriate legal proceedings both civil and criminal against you at your costs and expenses. A copy of this notice is been kept in my office for future reference.

Please help me get my money back.

I am President of Apartment Owners Association, Close North, Nirvana Country, Sectors 49,50 & 57 in Gurgaon. The Builder has started charging us commercial rate of electricity whereas it should have been Domestic rate. They have even not provided proper electricity and water connection whereas they had taken money from us 2 yrs ago

I booked an apartment and paid 100% in advance as full amount to Unitech in 2006. It's 5 years now and they still have not given the possession. When I went to site in Jan 2011 I saw the apartment does not even exist. When I asked the staff on duty to show me my apartment, they could not show me but gave a me a guided tour of a vacant apartment in some other tower. As per contract they were to give possession within 2 years but even after 5 years there is no sign of its possession. I am not sure if this will ever be built while I needed a house to get in there in 2 years time. I am now no where and in great pain and great difficulty without a house. I desperately needed my apartment.

Now, I have asked my money to be returned back to me as also stopped paying further but instead Bank is trying to claim more interest from me and absolving themselves from any responsibility

Also, I have been asking my Bankers ICICI Bank to press for possession and who are party to loan against purchase of this apartment, they keep telling me they will get back to me but no one calls back. They promise everytime to call back but they don't. I told them I must get the possession of my apartment or return all monies paid to them. Instead they have started to make me run from pillar to post.

I live overseas and bought this apartment because I have to get back and live in my aprtment in India.

I find this is highly depressing and a deceipt to an NRI who put entire faith in a reputed builder and a repudated bank, paid all premiums but in the end feel cheated.
My complaint is get my money back so that I can buy some apartment somewhere else where I can live a life.

I had invested for a Fixed deposit scheme o[censored]nitech (UL/FD/B/050286 & 287 ) which was due to expire on 4 Feb 2011.The request forms for withdrawal of the fixed deposits were signed and gived to Bajaj capital ltd( channel partners o[censored]nitech ltd) well in advance. However it was surprising to note that the matured amount was returned to us only on 7 march, 2011 which is a 1 month delay.Hence we have lost 1 month interest due to the delay by Unitech limited to refund us the our money.I request the company to compensate me for the loss of interest of 1 month. Otherwise I will be compelled to file a case in the consumer court for the loss incurred. My wife Pamela Roy Ballabh applied for an UNIFD(details as below) on Jan 2011. So far, she has not received the FD certificate. The amount corresponding to the FD value was debited from her account(cheque details given below) on 3rd Feb 2011.
