Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation [UPPCL] — Charges of Rs.708/- for Disconnection and Reconnection levied against my Account No.[protected] and no action by SD

Respected Sir,

With high esteem I would like to bring to your kind notice that I had to pass through a rigorous mental agony for no fault of mine. In Feb-2022 a Bill No.[protected] Dtd.24.02.2022 of Rs.65541/- against my Account No.[protected] in the name of Taij Krishan Bhat was wrongly generated by Electricity Department. Anyway, mistakes do happen but the worst part in U.P Electric Department is that to hide their own mistakes consumers are being punished. I contacted concerned SDO on his Mobile No. [protected] several times and was told to send the live video of my meter to them on Whatsapp so that they can correct the reading. But despite this nothing happened and again Bill No.[protected] Dtd.20.04.2022 for Rs.1.33, 177/- was generated. After this I got worried and started visiting from pillar to post in concerned Electricity Office and ultimately after submitting an application my bill was corrected to Rs.3853/- from[protected] to[protected]units 396) but the online payment to be made was showing Rs.4561/- which I made on the same day 25.03.2022. Now, as there was a difference of Rs.708/- and to enquire about this I dialed customer care number and I was shocked to know these are the charges for Disconnection and Reconnection levied on me which on ground has never taken place as I have never been a defaulter in my life. Regarding the reversal of fake charges I spoke to the concerned SDO on his Mobile No. [protected] several times but he never looked keen to redress my genuine grievance.

The matter is not of excess charges of Rs.708/- but if the system runs like this where the officers show lackadaisical approach towards the agonies of consumers we can never achieve the goal which our Hon’ble Chief Minister has set. So, I feel it my bounden duty to get the official punished for harassing electricity consumers in Ghaziabad for no fault of theirs.
