[Resolved]  Walmart Best Price — VAT Registration

I am a member of Best Price Walmart (Andhra Pradesh). Off later, the state is bifurcated into Telangana and AP and so all VAT numbers are also re-issued in Telangana. Unaware of this, I visited best price with my card, without a VAT registration certificate, as we dont carry the same everytime we go to shop. I was informed that I should submit a new T Vat else I will not be let inside (all this after waiting for 40 mins in the queue). I didnt know what to do. So I asked them if I can email the Vat registration. They said fine. So I called my brother and got the VAT registration emailed to the Best Price personnel. I was waiting, they were not bothered to even speak to me as they were busy updating other customers' cards with new VATs. After a lot of follow up, they finally opened the email, and took a print for 20 minutes. And finally tell me that the new VAT number is different from the old VAT number and so they will not let me in. There were others in the queue, who said that obviously there will be a difference in the Old and new VAT numbers as one is AP and one is Telangana. Now the guy says, give a letter on your letterhead saying my old VAT number is so and so and my new VAT number is so and so. Obviously I wont roam around with a letter head in my hand bag. Inspite of having a valid VAT registration certificate, I had to walk out of the store. Sick customer service. not at all helpful staff.
