On the bank of river situated in Ravet (Jadhav ghat) - The crematorium, is likely to cause environmental damage to nearby area. Funeral rites were found being carried out indiscriminately in part of the land by the villagers and inhabitants of the nearby area. There was no security wall and, therefore, the dead bodies were being exposed to danger from attacks of stray dogs, scavenging birds etc.
PCMC have constructed a crematorium, parallel to the bank of river which is isolated &appropriate for such activities.
Request you to strictly prohibit any cremation activity in open ground.
