Airtel — Airtel didn't refund broadband connection application money after connection not given

Hi, I had applied for Airtel Broadband connection on 23-Jan-2015 through Airtel executive, who charged Rs.1000, and made me fill application form. After a week, I was informed by some other airtel executive through call that connection couldnt be given in my area. I asked or refund on my aplication money, and the airtel executive asked for my Bank account number to be SMS’ed to her number so that they will do the refund. Even after providing the asked information, I didn’t get any response from them after many days. I simply waited for a month assuming they will process it. After 1 month I called up the airtel executive who had taken application money from me, and asked about my refund, and he said he will let airtel initiate my refund, and I will get it in 21 days. After that I didnt hear anything on my refund since 21 days, hence on 21-March-2015, I decided to enquire about status of my refund from Airtel customer care, and to my surprise they responded by saying there exists no such application form from me in their database. They said tey will escalate this case and asked me to send scanned copy of the application form, and I sent them to “[protected]@artel.in.com”. The registered this complain NO: 54386088 on 21-March-2015, and assured the case would be resolved in 3 days. Even after 4 days of the complain, I didnt get any response from Airtel, so I followed up again with customer care who informed in mail that it is still under processing and they ll get back to me. Again I called up Airtel customer care again on 30-March-2015, and they informed me that I need to send them cancelled cheque scanned copy and my address detail and my refund will be done within 2 days. I sent the asked cheque and address detail to “[protected]@artel.in.com” and “[protected]@in.airtel.com”. On 5th-April-2015, when I called up Airtel customer care for the status, they informed me that comlain o: 54386088 case has been closed. They couldnt provide me any justification for why the case was closed without informing me and without resolving it. They made me talk to some Airtel Manager again and who said he will escalate this issue again. Now this escalation has been happening in a loop since months, but without any resolution. I smell something fishy with the way airtel is closing the case without resolution. Now in these 2.5 months of following up with airtel people, I have spend hours of calls explaining each customer care same history of my cases again and again and now I have become highly frustrated, So I have decided to approach consumer court for help. I already spent efforts more than worth the application money for which I am seeking a refund If the consumer forum find my case worth given justice to, please help. I am willing to provide email interaction with Airtel, if it is required. Thanks, Sandeep
