I have been using an Airtel SIM with the mobile number 88630***** registered under my name, Prabhat Kumar, which I obtained with my voter ID card for the past 10 years. Suddenly, the SIM has stopped working for no apparent reason (SIM no.[protected]). I contacted the local store for a duplicate SIM and provided my documents and details, but the verification failed, and they are saying that my name is mismatching.
Upon further inquiry, I discovered that the name registered with Airtel starts with 'P' only and has a total of 9 letters, while my first name (Prabhat) has only 7 letters, while the last name (Kumar) remains the same and other details like address remains same . This mistake has occurred on Airtel's side, leading to a loss of now 3 days of calls and messages. I am receiving no assistance from Airtel Store or Airtel customer care (198). Now, this is very disappointing as I have provided the same number to banks and other institutions, which is preventing me from performing any transactions.
This situation is becoming increasingly painful for me, despite no fault of my own. Please look into this matter and provide assistance.
