This is with reference to airtel no.[protected]
I purchased this new sim and ir package worth rs.3999 on 23.01.18, as i was to travel to the usa on 27.01.201. I was told that the international roaming would automatically be activated once i reached my destination. Apart from the cost of the sim and the tariff of 3999, another rs 99 was deducted by airtel as ir service charge from my account.
That would have all been fine, if airtel had provided me with their promised services.
During my three weeks (21 days) stay there, not even once could i use the services for which i had already paid (In advance). My phone did receive signals from airtels's american service partner in between and i was able to access internet, but that's about it! Neither could i make a call nor could i receive one - thanks to airtel's exemplary after sales service! - which, needless to say, was my primary and most important requirement and the reason why i had invested on the ir package in the first place. The only sign my phone consistently displayed was the 'no service' one, and it remained the same even on those occasions when i was fortunate enough to receive data signals.
When i contacted airtel online customer care, first i was given a time limit of 76 hours, then 48 hours and so on it went - but to no avail.in spite of several requests, (All emails), they did absolutely nothing to get the issue resolved. I even contacted one mr. Vimal (Airtel park, [protected]), who offered help, but wouldn't even take my subsequent calls.
Since the airtel ir pack turned out to be an absolute disaster, i had to turn to other means of communication - for which i was not actually prepared for. And, which obviously ended up costing me dearly.
This whole episode is a breach of service on the part of airtel. I want to be duly compensated for the losses sustained owing to this breach of contract.
Hence, i am asking for a full refund - of rs.3999.
