Airtel india does it yet again!
I travelled to europe between sep 26th and oct 13th and i had subscribed to the rs. 3999 ir pack before i left that covers the regions i visited (France, italy, and netherlands.) my bill shows that i exceeded the data usage of 5gb as per the terms of the ir pack to which i had subscribed. However, this is not possible as i had been connected to wifi and had very light usage for mobile internet. I switched off my data after receiving a message saying excess usage of 8000 on date 10th oct. Yet, i get a whopping bill of rs. 13, 501. My husband, viraj nair with whom i was travelling used a lot more data on mobile internet than me, streaming 2 entire football games but his bill didn’t contain any additional charges. When we wrote to the customer experience team, they waived off rs. 1, 000 as 'goodwill gesture'! I am absolutely appalled at this behavior and refuse to have anything to do with this network anymore! I had read stories of airtel scamming people especially when they are travelling abroad but honestly, it's unacceptable.
This is the second time that we’ve faced international roaming charges issues with airtel. On this occasion, we ensured that we had subscribed to a pack before we left, but still have been overcharged.
