Airtel — The Cancellation request is not placed on time and bills are generated

I had the Airtel fixed lanline [protected] which was requested to cancel on October month. I payed all the due amount but the customer care representative forgot to place the cancellation request. Hence the bill (around 2100) got generated for the next month and they are contacting me pay the bill amount generated. I logged several complaints with Customer care and Airtel Presence Facebook page but no one is really willing to resolve this. I got some weird explanation from Airtel that Customer care will try to extend the cancellation date just for the purpose of commission, hence they are OK to close the account with a waiver of Rs400. I did not agree to it as I am not responsible for paying a single rupee for the mistake that done by Airtel Customer care . One of the Customer care representative did tell me that she could see the conversation history in my account and she confirmed that Airtel missed to put the cancellation request. Can you please assist me to resolve this issue and waive the bill amount that compelling me to pay it?
