[Resolved] Bharti Airtel — False Billing Mechanism | |||
I received a bill of Rs.6587 for my Airtel Number - [protected] on 18th of March, 2015 for a period of two months after converting to the heavily advertised My Plan Family offer of Airtel in January and clubbing all my numbers together to get a single bill. It is unfair and totally illegal to send a bill for two months as I would have definitely changed my bill plan or ported out of Airtel to some other mobile operator had I know that I am being overcharged by the company and would be made to suffer because of the company's fault. I also sent them mail on March 8, 2015 wherein I had expressed my concern that I have not received any bill after converting to My Plan Family and had got a reply from Airtel acknowledging that there is an upgradation in the Billing system etc. and bill for the Feb, 2015 month cannot be generated and will be generated at once in March, 2015. My question is - Is it legal to send a bill for two months at once without giving prior information to the customer and that too for such an inflated amount considering the average billing of all my numbers under the MyPlan Family offer put together per month is never more than 2500.
