I was airtel subscriber for nearly 9 years,though they did not have any good offers for the sake of number i did not shift to other provider,but due to there very very poor customer care service(worst) I have thrown away my airtel sim and shifted to reliance gsm.
PROBLEM I have encountered with the airtel is they have cross linked a docomo number incoming calls to my airtel number i.e. my airtel sim was recieving the incoming calls of another persons docomo sim,I have complained it in the december 25th to customer care airtel,they said it was the towers signal cross linking problem and they will rectify in 5 days.but they did not rectify the problem.
I have called customer care many times,they said they will rectify it.
On january 1st i called them and said seriously i will complain about them,they said they will rectify and there representative will meet me before 5th,but they did not rectify the problem,My airtel number was recieving the incoming calls of a docomo number.I have called several times,they said they will rectify but they didn't rectify,airtel customer care service is the worst i have seen.
Airtel is not at all concentrating on the consumer complaints,they just concentrate on adding new customers.if the airtel continues like this i think after some years they will have to loose many customers.
If the number portability comes,due to airtel worst customer care service,many customers will shift to other operators

I bought a new airtel sim b4 a month and after a week of tat I got a call frm customer care regarding my sim verification, I had given correct details and they said everthing is correct and each week they called and verified my details. But on saturday(30/4/11). My msg and call was blocked, if I try to connect a call it goes to cust care. They again asked my details and said after 24hrs my sim ll be activated, until tat cant use,my sim. Then next day also it was,still in hold. Again dey said sry for trouble , dey ll clear it quickly. But day 3 also started still I cant use my sim. I never seen such a,bad sim verification in any netwrk. All cc ppl saying it ll get ready soon, but no one is taking respobsible for this. First need to change my netwrk

THEY DON'T EVEN CARE ABOUT CUSTOMERS. NOT CHECKING CASE HISTORY BEFORE CALLING CUSTOMERS, EVERYDAY REPEATING THE SAME TEMPLATE. I AM ONE AMONG THE IRATED CUSTOMERS.

Let me start the story what happened to me . On may 2nd 2012 I have registered a request for shifting my connection from Ekkatuthaangal to Thiruvaanmiyur, they sent a acknowledgement message as "we will get back to you by 07/05/2012". Again I got a call from a support rep requesting me to pay the existing bill for last month, then I paid it on the same day. I waited till 07/05/2012 no one responded me after that i was keep on calling them (for 1 and half week), more than ten times I called no support rep has responded well and never given solid answer on whats going on. I escalated the call, then a floor manager contacted me stating there is some technical problem in giving the connection (some box is not available in my new area, they have to arrange it). They were keep on postponing the connection, finally I got it on 22nd of May 2012.

Now I got a bill end of May month, obviously they have to reduce the bill for intermediate days (may 02 to may 22). They did not do it and got one more extra bill for previous month. I was wondering how I have to pay previous month bill since they will shift the connection only if you settle the existing bill also I paid it on May 02nd as well. There was a lot of confusion in the billing. So I did not pay the bill generated by end of May.

Through out June month I got some 25 calls (almost 10 support reps called) from customer care requesting to pay the bill. I explained everything, no one seem to be understanding the problem til end of June. One of the support rep was so rude over the phone. Finally one person clarified me that it was a confusion with their billing date and I have one more previous bill (duration April 11- May 10). Still I had no clear idea. June month was over. My connection was bared on July 4th or may be 14th.

Now collection team started calling me. A guy called Ravishankar called me and explained about billing, I compared all my previous payments via online and accepted that I will pay it. It was end of July So I wanted to pay it through my credit card. Total bill they generated was 2805 but actual bill is 2450. He has given all the reduction. Finally I visited Guindy Airtel office, a guy in that office told that credit card machine not working. I conveyed the same to Ravishankar.

Again they were keep on calling (4 times a day). Finally I was convinced to pay the whole amount Rs.2805 through online. The excess amount I paid will be reduced in next month bill, a lady called Laxmi promised and given her number ([protected]) for any more problems. I paid the bill on 08/08/2012 Wednesday. I have also requested the plan change to 599 per month with Laxmi. She told it will take another 3 more days. I complained about all the previously called support reps to her.

When I called Laxmi in [protected] on 10/08/2012 Friday. She did not pick it at all. so I called Ravishankar since I had his mobile number then came to know that the plan change request is not yet processed. Following is the reason.

Reason: LAXMI IS ON LEAVE

I got irated like anything. Already I am struggling without internet connection, they have wasted 2 days. Ravishankar requested me to wait for 4 more days. I shouted like anything. They don't even care about customers, not at all taking irresponsibility. Their Only responsibility is to collect the money from customers after that they wont care.

NOT AT ALL WORTH TO BE A CUSTOMER CARE


So I would suggest not to go for AIRTEL please.
