[Resolved]  Airtel Broadband Connection — Customer Harassment and Irresponsible

Hi,
We took Broadband Wifi connection from Airtel in May 2012. We got the connection transferred to a new address i.e. to Noida Sector 47, our new apartment. Since then the Internet connection has been working intermittently. Sometimes its slow, sometimes it doesnt get connected etc. We told this to Airtel engineer who transferred our connection and he said he will send another engineer to look into the issue. No one came, then we reached Airtel customer care multiple times and the customer care said that there is an issue from Airtel network side and it will be taken care of in 48 hours. It worked after 48 hours but again after a few days the issue started coming. Then again we called Airtel customer care multiple times and every time they assured it will work in some more time but it didnt. FInally we logged a complaint at the customer care and said we want some engineer to visit and rectify the whole issue for once and all, Airtel did not send any engineer even after assuring us. Then we again called them multiple times but no response, and then finally we went to Airtel office in Sector 25 Noida and told the issue and they logged a complaint number 31368648 in 13th April and finally the engineer visited on 14th April and said that the Modem is faulty and it needs replacement. He also said that the modem has just passed 1 year of warranty period (9th May) and hence we as customer have to do the replacement. We were not happy with this resolution because there was a huge delay from Airtel side in telling us that modem is faulty. So, we logged another complaint on 14th April[protected]. Again nothing happened, then we logged another complaint on 23rd Aril[protected]. After that we started receiving various calls from Airtel asking us the problem and every time these guys said that they will send some engineer to replace our modem, sometime they said they will replace the modem with an old one, sometime they said they wont replace the modem, BUT to cut it short, no engineer ever visited and no one resolved our issue. We kept on following up and we raised this issue to the Nodal team hoping that they will resolve the issue but again Nodal team did nothing. Then we approached the Appellate team hoping at least they will listen and do something, they did raise another complaint[protected] but again did nothing. Last update is that Appellate team member logged this complaint and said that she will send an engineer to double check the modem, an engineer called us from [protected] on 8th May noon and said he will visit on 9th. We told him to visit before 10 AM as we have to leave for office and he agreed and said he will definitely visit before 10 AM and give us call before visting. Again as expected, no one called us and no one visited on 9th April.
Airtel service center, nodal team, Appellate team has been playing games with us and making us roam in circles since more than 4 months and every time we call them they ask us to describe the whole issue again and again and they also do not send us the reference number for complaints. We are totally helpless and do not know what to do next. We have been paying Airtel bills on time for every month irrespective of these issues.

Airtel Broadband — Airtel Harassment

Complaint History:
On 3rd June 2008 i had given an request for shifting of address to airtel, subsequent to which the connection was shifted by a engineer called Mr. Mrutyam. Later in the evening when i checked the connection it was working perfectly. Next day when i tried to connected to the broadband i was unable to do so, so i again logged an complaint with Airtel Customer care on 9th June 2009 (Request number[protected]. I was assured that the same will be solved within 24 hours. Next day i tried to connect but was of no use. So again on 10th june i called customer care and reclogged the complaint and again was given assurance that the same will be put on High Prority and solved immediately. Since then daily i get calls from your service engineers stating to check the connection they have rectified and in evening when i check, the same is not working and i have to call the customer care.

I almost end up calling to the customer care and executives daily 3-4 times, in the hope that they will be able to resolve the same but of no use. At the end i had given a call to airtel office at White House building on Friday 12th june, 2008 and i got an assurance that the problem would be resolved immediately by evening. The same night an executive named Mr.Gangadhar whose number is [protected] called me and said that shifting has not been done and there is some problem in server, so the same shall be rectified by Saturday. I again checked the connection on Saturday night and same status, connection not working.

Lastly loosing all hopes i called the customer care number 4 times on Sunday. Each time i was told to be on hold and i would be transferred to Voice detartment/Technical department and then no one replied on the other end. The executives whom i called on Sunday at call center are namely – Ms. Lakshmi, Ms. Madhu, Ms. Vijay Lakshmi and Mr. Surest.

I hope this mail explains in detail of the harassment i am getting from airtel and hope that my problem would be solved immediately.

Airtel Broadband — irresponsibility on tthe part of customer care

On 13 th of october 2010, i regeistered my complaint of disturbance in broadband connection, by the complaint no[protected]. Inspite of me requesting them to release my internet connection as i had exams the very next day , the airtel support service remained numb. Throughout the day i had called around 6 times and the only excuse they gave was that they would release the connection within four hours. my net conncetion has been blocked without any reason and the airtel customer care is trying to fool me by giving the non payment of dues as a reason which i already did through my credit card. this misbehaviour is bringing the company a very bad name, and its sure to lose its market reputation. the customer care people are very arrogant and insensible. i called them 6 times at around 11:45 pm to know about my connection and the man on the other side recieved the call once and then did not. how can airtel manage to hire such people. we are the ones who are paying and suffering too . i do not expect any instant help from the airtel staff which i think are all quiet dumb for their jobs.

Airtel broadband complaint — irresponsible service

I have been an airtel customer for the past 4-5 years. Till august I was using unlimited plan and i use to get a bill of not more than Rs.1200 and I also use to get this browser message and mobile sms regarding my usage stats.

Previous month when I switched over to a limited 799 plan with a 6gb limit, the bill has got to more than Rs.5000. When I switched the plan, airtel did not inform me that i wont be getting any usage warning and unbilled amount stat. when i asked them through customer care, one of their representatives said for limited plan no stats will be informed. why the hell they didnt inform me earlier? even if i crossed 6gb, i was not informed about the threshold limit through sms or browser message. I checked the bill amount of Rs.5000.

Also, there is no sign of 6gb usage discount in the bill. the usage showed around 20gb. so for a 20gb usage, the 6gb amount should be deduced from the bill.

also, the rent plan is rs.799. but it has been mentioned as rs.905. how? it is stated that 20 paise will be charged for each mb after 6gb o[censored]sage. so let me state that out of 20gb, 6gb is free.

so for the remaining 14 gb, an amount approx. rs. 2800 should be billed but it is in fact more than 5000.

it is not only a problem but i have called customer care thrice and yet they are not informing about the bill stats citing slowdowns.

1) airtel didnt inform me that i wont be getting any message when i cross the data limit for a limited plan.
2) no discount made for 6gb.
3) rent is mentioned as 905 but the plan rent is 799.
4) 4-5 years of being a customer has no real advantage and no discounts, special offers were made.
5) once i told them to switch to a limited plan but they upgraded to another unlimited plan without informing me.
6) they are out to make money. they will reduce the speed after a limit in an unlimited plan but they wont warn us regarding usage in a limited plan. because they want to make some bucks. when asked you are told to check the usage in their website which will take eons to load.
7) no respect or deductions for long value customers.
8) other services like bsnl offers same options for a much low cost.
9) limited plan sucks in airtel
10) iam going to switch over to bsnl after this horror.
