[Resolved]  Airtel — Fake calls for 10 lakhs lottery from airtel

FAKE AIRTEL CALLS for lottery
and I m getting repeated calls now!! from this number...
AIRTEL .. please WAKE up.. block these numbers!

It is still giving same fake calls and nobody at airtel is blocking this number

i read this complaint in this website actually, i was searching the same number details in google, i also got the missed call today (21 jan-2010) in the morning & 1st missed call yesterday in the evening. I dialed this number & the same person vijay kumar recived my call & said that i won the lottry prize from Airtel of rupees 10 lacs.he gave me the number of his head office which is ( [protected] ram naresh) & told me to speak that person to collect my prize.

it seems like what????
why these people do this thing i dont know, but before dialed this number i checked it on google & got this same information. i think they took all airtel user mobile number & data from anywhere & try to make them fool.

i'll advise to all airtel user that dont provide your personal (A/c no.& other) details to him or anybody to avoid fake transaction.

Today 21st Feb 2010, I got a missed call from number[protected]. I didn't recognize it so called back. Some who said his name is Vijay Kumar(probably fake) said i won a award of Rs 10 lakh from Airtel and he is calling from airtel head office. He asked me to call [protected] and talk to Raj Verma(probably fake) to claim the money.

I didn't believe it, once i reached back home i checked online for such frauds and found above link. I called airtel and informed them about it.

I as an individual cannot followup with these frauds, however Airtel can and should followup and these people are defaming airtel's name.

THIS TIME AMOUNT IS 25 LACS.

I also got the missed call today (18 march-2010) in the morning & 1st missed call yesterday in the evening. I dialed this number & the person my call & said that i won the lottry prize from Airtel of rupees 25 lacs.he gave me the number of his head office which is ( [protected] ram singh) & told me to speak that person to collect my prize.
One more important i noticed is two call last for 2 min and 10 sec.and cost 27.54 and 27 rs resp.
When I call cust. care number 121 they don't have any clue

I also got missed call ( [protected] on 22-March-2010) in Morning.I dialed this number & the person in my call said that i won the lottry prize from Airtel of rupees 25 lacs.he gave me the number of his head office which is ([protected] Raj Verma) & told me to speak that person to collect my prize.


I noticed huge amoung deducted from my account

When I called back at this number, caller said that he is calling from Kolkata AIRTEL Head office. They informed about the lottery which I won worth 10 lakhs.
I asked the name - it was some Mr. Ravi Kumar (probably fake)
The person asked me to make a call this number [protected].


I got a doubt and called to Airtel Customer Care, they said it is PAKISTAN number.
I was shocked that how someone got my Airtel number and trying to get information like this.
I request Airtel to take strict action against this number - or the series of numbers as mentioned above by other users.

Airtel is a brand, and I've been its customer for around 10 years - it should should consider this kind of complaints pretty seriously.
thats a suggestion - I hope Airtel keeps up to their brnd vlue and not let it get tarnished like this.

Same thing happened with me too... (an AirTel postpaid customer since more than 5 years)

Time: 5.30 AM

Got missed call from [protected] (As per him, he was calling from Calcutta)
His head office No. [protected] (As per him, head office is at Delhi)
Prize Amount 10 lacks

I can see that the first complaint was posted on 16 Jan 2010 and till date AirTel haven't found any solution to this issue.

When I called back at this number, caller said that he is calling from Bombay AIRTEL Head office. They informed about the lottery which I won worth 10 lakhs.

The person asked me to check my sim no as per the no given by him.I was shocked when i chk my sim no it was the same given by him.

I got same call from below number today 20 Oct. 2010 around 9:30 AM india, pune lcoation.

Around half an hour back today( nov-30, 2010), I got missed call from the number [protected]

When I called back at this number, I came to that It was from dubai and the
caller said that he is calling from Dubai AIRTEL office. They informed about the lottery which I won worth 10 lakhs.
I aske the name - it wa some Mr. Vijay Kumar(probably fake)
The person asked me to give my account number so as to transfer money of Rs.10 lakhs.

He also said that around 130 Airtel number won this lottery.

This call deducted huge amount from my balance in mobile.When I called to
Airtel Customer Care, they said there is no such office in Dubai.I
was shocked that how someone got my Airtel number and trying to get information like this.
I request Airtel to take strict action against this number - or the series of numbers as mentioned above by other users.

Any amount of money deducted may be re-imbursed back - thats a suggestion.

i also faced same problems, and this time no.(s) were [protected] & [protected],
they steal our data base and when i talked with airtel, then they told me, that they r not responsible for all the process.

I am surprised how Airtel database can be so easily hacked into by fraudsters! I received a call today morning (05/06/2012) from some fool in Calcutta claiming that I have won 25 Lakh rupees in an Airtel prize scheme and I was to contact the following number - [protected] -Rawal Malhotra. Also I was asked for my personal bank account number, account holder name and branch details. I already concluded a FAKE and so I have passed on the number of fraudster to Airtel office and they said they will take strict action!

I really hope such fraudsters be caught and AIRTEL (One of the biggest service providers) provide more security to its customers who are the real reason for AIRTEL success.

I had received a call on my mobile today at noon from Number[protected] that my airtel mobile number has been selected in 10000 numbers and in the occassion of Amitabh Bachhan's 70th Birthday and due to this an amount of Rs.10 lac will be paid to me through online transfer in my bank account or if I want to take it cash then they will pay cash. They have given me another number [protected] for calling tomorrow. The person some Vijay Kumar was talking.
Please take action in your jurisdiction for this fake calls.
