Airtel / Fixed Line — Security flaw
Hi, I shifted 3 months back to rented house in marathahalli (bangalore). Where I found one airtel fixed line cable, which is previous tenant line. As I am existing airtel broadband user, i had the devices with me. so I connected my device with that line. I could able to call any one. But I have never used that line for my usage. Now I want new airtel broadband connection, so I am Appling for the connection last one month, but they are saying “you are in non coverage area”. I told to Airtel clearly that I have one unused line inside my home. You can provide that connection to me. But there are not ready to do that. Even I told them that If I used that line for my personal usage you wont charge me, but they are saying “Yes, sir. We won’t charge you”. I asked them how long that line will be like that as unused. They said six months, after six months if he is not paying the bill that connection will be cancel. So next three months if I am making any calls from that line no one is going to ask me. They will ask the old tenant. I have some points from this scenario 1- It is loss for Airtel, as the old tenant is not using so he won’t pay any money. I am ready to pay monthly rental for broadband, but Airtel is not ready to take that. 2- Such a phone links needs to be disconnected as soon as detected as not used lines. Otherwise some one can use it for any unwanted activities including terrorism. Regards, Nagarajan. K [protected] Was this information helpful?
