[Resolved] Bag It Today — Gold Box offer Scam

I had received a call from Bagit today saying that I had won Gold Box worth Rs. 4lakhs in which I will receive either cash, Gold or products and will not have to pay any additional amount but need to make some purchases which I did. The details are mentioned below. Once I confimed the purchases by paying thru ICICI credit card, the excutive confirms that I have won gold worth Rs. 4lakhs which can be purchased from any of the outlets and I need not pay any extra amount and these are not discount vouchers.

Later, I get a verification call and the executive tells me that I have won Gold vouchers which can be used as discount vouchers only through online purchases made and I immediately instructed the executive to cancel my order. I would want to ensure that my money is refunded at the earliest. I have also logged a call with customer care (Mr.Imran) asking them to cancel my booking and refund the amount at the earliest. Dear Sir/Madam

As already informed, I would like to cancel the below bookings made by me on 6th/7th July'10. This is because your executive has given us wrong commitment on the Gold Box offers. Appreciate your immediate action on this and ensure the amount is refunded to my credit card at the earliest.

Thanks for posting this. I also received a call today from India Today saying I can win 5KG Gold by buying products worth 30, .000/-. I started searching internet for any fraud calls.

On 19.07.2010 one Mr. Prashant Paliwal from Phone[protected]India Today) rang me intimating of my being chosen as a lucky winner. I was told to make certain puchasings like 22" Samsung LCD TV; Philipd Sound System; Samsung Camcorder; Diamond Voucher etc. and got Rs. 52 thousand paid thru (non-human interface) Debit Card. It was told that the winning amount plus the puchasing details will be mailed by noon. But even after 2 days they haven't sent me any mail. They say that their Server is down.
The persons who negotiated the deal are Shri Prashant Paliwal; Ms. Shruti; Mr. Sandeep & Mr. Pranab Subbarwal. The recordings of all phone calls are available.
They all are cheat and the alternative India Today & bagit Today Numbers are just not helping nor are denying. The numbers are[protected]; [protected]; [protected].

India Today Book Club is the biggest cheat I've ever come across. They lure you into buying products saying that you are the only lucky winner in the whole of India, and then you don't get ANYTHING free.
Luckily, I escaped this gold box offer because of my previous bad experience.

Its time something must be done against them. Some legal action. Or at least we can create awareness that people don't get lured into this.

Mr. Dipankar Was call me on 09/06/10 reagarding the gold box offer & i place the order also for rs 26000, now i received the product but still today that is 29/09/10 i am not getting that gold box ,
i Call to your custmer care many times but i coudnot satisfied from there side
So please go through the case & solve Immedietly

Now i m verry warried that Such a big consumer related company is doing such thing How one can Trust on you? we are just wasting our valueable money & not getting the proper item

Bag it today is definitely a fraudulent co.
They will never send any gold box. Even if they send you vouchers to purchase surat diamond jewellery, you can yse only one voucher of Rs. 5000/- value ( rest of the money u have to pay for purchasing ) for one transaction. The jewellery they send is available in the market ta 1/3 prize. So, pl do not order any jewellery purchase through vouchers.
Bag it today promises to club 4 vouchers at a time, but they will never do and can not do so.
SO NEVER DO ANY TRANSACTIONS FROM BAG IT TODAY ( INDIA TODAY GROUP )

a call from bag it today on [protected] was received by me n i was informed that on the basisof purchase in the month of dec 2009 i hv won gift voucher worth rs 30000 plus including camcorder etc ur representative asked my credit card no n debited rs15998 without my consent n made EMI of aforesaid amount.Kindly cancel d order n credit rs15998 to my sbi card.

Yes Bagittoday or India today is a fraud company and a cheating company who cheats the consumer in all ways. kindly do not lift their telephone call or else you will be cheated. I have been cheated of Rs.7498+7498+4998 and till now not got my money refunded almost 2 months over. I will defintely sue the company in consumer forum.
