[Resolved]  Big C — selling models not supported by the Manufacturer

I have bought a Samsung SGH-F400 mobile phone from BIG C, after the warranty expired i was facing problems with the display and took it to Samsung service center at Masab tank, they said that Samsung did not release that model in India at all and they will not support it, when taken back to BIG C, they were charging 800 to change the connector cable with no warranty where as others mobile service centers were charging only 400 with 1 month warranty for the same.

is it legal to sell such models which are not officially released by the original manufacturer,. what legal action can be taken against them if it is true that they sold me a smuggled phone, do they pay taxes for such goods even though they charge us service tax and VAT ?
