buyalmost.com — cheated and attracted with false promises

Hi,
I spent 27000 in Buyalmost.com and I have ended up with products worth of 19,000. I advice people to avoid buyalmost, they won’t let us win any product. At the end you need to pay MRP+ lot of money to get the product.

Below is the mail chain (I had with them)

Avoid Buyalmost,
Kishore

Hi Mr. Venkata,

Please know that what you feel is only your perception, and there is no way that the auction behavior will be impacted by your bid alone. As said earlier, auction length depends on the number of bidders interested in the auction.

is there possibility "i can get atleast part of my lost RS:8000"?

Thanks,
Kishore

Hi Mr. Venkata,

We do understand and empathize with your situation.

Please know that as a trend we have noticed that auctions of higher MRP tend to attract more competition as compared to products of lower worth. You can use this trend to your advantage by incorporating it in your trading strategy.

BuyAlmost has numerous users, and some are very active bidders, however be rest assured that we take proper measures to ensure that all auctions run in the most fair manner possible.

Below are some strategies to win on BuyAlmost:

1.You should never start bidding in a BuyAlmost auction until you’ve been observing it for five minutes. This is the minimum amount of time it takes to get a feel for who your competition will be.
2. The Golden rule is that never pay over the retail price for anything on BuyAlmost. Unbelievably though, this rule gets broken quite often at BuyAlmost.
3. Look for an auction that’s low in competition. This may enhance your winning chances
4. One of the ways of reducing competition is to make the auction seem hopeless. Wait until the number of active bidders has reduced between 4-6 bidders. Now bid as early and often as possible to create the appearance of strength and even recklessness on your behalf, intimidating other bidders to drop out.
5. If you are not an experienced bidder, or you did not have luck winning an auction yet, you should practice your bidding skills on cheaper items. It is much easier to win a cheaper item and get great discounts. Generally, the cheaper the item the less interest it generates. It will attract fewer people, and you will have less competition.
Happy Bidding!

Hi team,
I have two accounts kroy and kroypatcha. on kroy i spent around RS: 8000 and on kroypatcha i spent RS: 19000.

At the end of all bids i have:
I purchased a 22" TV (on kroypatcha account in which i spent RS:19000)
i purchased water purifier (on kroy account in which i spent RS: 8000)

I never won any auction (all the auction i have participated ended with record ending prices). Both the product i have purchased , i have paid full amount.

On total for 27000 spending i got products worth of 19,000 (as per bills i got from futurebazaar).

So i lost RS: 8000 on buy almost. as all auctions i participated ended with record ending price (i am getting doubt, how many ever bids i spent those much auction goes on and it goes to record ending. This Leeds me to lose auction even after spending thousands of money).

Show me some way to get my money back.

Thanks in advance,
Kishore

I agree with you. I have spent 15000 Rs and I have not won anything. Please advise people to stay away from this. They have system created users...the user names are nik_sharma_1, roshan.varma, Sinhali, and many more. Beware of this site.

The following are the complaints i have posted and their replies. Everytime they blame it to the internet.

-----my query----
Hello,

I have identified at least two users which have won using unfair means.

The users are:
1. roshan.varma (Roshan Varma)
2. Sinhali (Sinhali Soundar)

How did I find out?

1 On 30th of May 2010, I was bidding for the product Apple iPhone 3Gs 16 GB GSM Handset(Auction ID: 1582). After 5000 bids were placed, the user roshan.varma bid for once at last. Then, when 5 seconds were left, I tried to bid but i was not able to. I tried at least 3 times but in vain. Finally the bid ended as roshan.varma winner.

2: On and 31st of May 2010, i was bidding for the same product(Auction ID: 1597). Under a very similar circumstances, when around 5000 bids were done, the user Sinhali placed a bid at last. Then I tried to bid and clicked the bid button 6 times. But the bidding was not accepted and hence ended Sinhali as the winner.

How will you explain this system behavior? I want a very clear clarification on this and the identity of these bidders.

Regards,
MDSingh

Hi Mr. Singh,

Thank you for writing in.

Please know that we prioritize customer satisfaction above anything else and ensure that the auction takes place in the most fair manner possible.

In order to avoid a situation where a user accidently bids more than once successively, hence wasting his precious bids, BuyAlmost has a unique safety feature that does not allow the user to place successive bids to out bid himself.

Occasionally, our users tell us that even though they bid before the countdown ended, their bids did not get placed and the auction ended. In these instances, the most likely explanation is the so-called "Internet lag times". These are time-delays in the transfer of data between your PC and our servers. Mostly those delays (lags) occur because single parts of the internet connection are overloaded.

This, unfortunately, is a general problem with the internet.

There are a few ways of helping minimize this problem:

* While bidding on BuyAlmost do not download large data such as video or audio files from the internet.
* Don't send emails with large attachments while bidding on BuyAlmost.
* Make sure that no other users such as family members, etc. are using the internet while you are bidding.

We're very sorry if your bid wasn't registered by the BuyAlmost servers in time. To be absolutely certain that you avoid the problem of "Internet lag times" don't leave your bidding until the last second, or use the BidBuddy to place your bids.

Best Regards,

Team - BuyAlmost

My new query which is yet to be replied:

Hello,

If you are blaming to the internet for everything then its fine. But will you explain the behavior if the particular user described below:

The user nik_sharma_1 has won two auctions namely Auction ID: 1611(Nokia E63 GSM Handset) and Auction ID: 1602(Philips Portable DVD Player PET717) on 30th May, 2010.

As according to your rule, a user can win only two auctions in a weeks time. And if he/she wins another one it will be canceled.

Now the question is in spite of knowing this fact, why this user was aggressively bidding on theses two products Auction ID: 1614(Nokia 5800 GSM Handset) and Auction ID: 1597(Apple iPhone 3Gs 16 GB GSM Handset) after already winning 2 auctions.

I require you to publish the physical identity of nik_sharma_1. No arguments can be acceptable for this.

I know you will answer the following:
He/She dosen't know that only 2 auctions are allowed to be won per week.

This argument will be invalid, because after winning an auction you will require users to accept it and you send minimum 3 emails to the users to do so. In the emails you send, it is clearly mentioned that only 2 auctions are allowed to be won in a week's period. Moreover, this is clearly stated in your terms and conditions also.

So why will someone waste so much of bids(a bid costs around Rs 20 on an average) if at all he/she had bought the bids with ones hard earned money.

I need the identities of all the users mentioned in this and the previous mail. Otherwise I want a full refund of the amount I have spent in BUYALMOST.COM

FYI: I have a 512KBPS internet and I am the only user.
I am fully agreed with Mr.Singh who was very clearly explain about this website. I am also personally experienced with this fraud company.
I am also a victim. buyalmost has to provide some genuine contacts of their satisfied customers.
I watched Buyalmost for almost three weeks and then bought bid worth Rs 900/- and Rs 1800/- . The next day I bidded on a nokia E63 and won in on 05 bids for Rs 73.85/- and was very excited and happy. Just to show how I bid and won this item I showed it to my mom and wife after one hour. while showing I won Sony MP3 in one bid for Rs 55.00/-. Thats it, I won items worth 17000/- for my Rs2400/-. The rest of the bids I really did not try for the best and consumed.this is my testimony.
