[Resolved]  Calcutta Telephones — Excess Billing

Calcutta Telephones with much doll drums to promote their broad band service offered 20% rebate on broad band charges to Govt, and Govt Undertaking's employees. I applied for the rebate on 10/06/2009 on rental for broad band service for domestic usage. At the same time I switched over to unlimited download from Home 500 plan. The there was a promotional offer for unlimited broad band service @Rs500/- pm for six months, the actual charge being Rs750/- pm. On the counter they said after this promotional period is over my application for the rebate on broad band rental will be affected. But it was never so.

The BSNL, or Calcutta Telephone is yet to get up from its age old slumber. I find the bill with full charge on broad band service is presented this month i.e February 2010. It is surprising that The Calcutta Telephone does not accept any billing complaint online! I tried to contact concerned AOTR, Barrackpore on phone, but could not succeed as there was none to pick up on any day between 15/02/2010 to 20/02/2010!

There is always a high billing is charging since last 4-5 bills I've received till date. My normal billing never rises more than Rs.500.00 per bill if you check our history, but last few bills it is much above this figure. It is Rs.1085.00 in Jan-Feb'11 bill period. This time I'm not going to pay this bill as long as it is not sorted out. If it is not sorted out within next 48 hours I'll surrender my connection.

I have Broad Band fixed monthly charges Rs. 800/- but LL you are charging Rs. 180/- for 124 calls. But please be noted I have using telephone connection only usage for BB and we have four mobile connection. So, provide me call list on immediate effect to re-check. My normal billing never rises more than Rs.1050.00.00 per bill if you check our history, but last few bills it is much above this figure Rs.1200.00. This time I'm not going to pay this bill as long as it is not sorted out. If it is not sorted out within next 48 hours I'll surrender my connection.
