I have lost Rs 1, 09, 000/- through HDFC netbanking Third party transfer by some unauthorised person .
HDFC is not giving any support nor any proper response, every time they changing their commitments and dialogues.since 40 days.
The blame goes to HDFC bank because of their un secured netbanking service compared to other banks netbanking.
How HDFC is responsible by their unsecured service as follows.
1.) HDFC customer care operator service is only between 8:00 A.M to 8:00 P.M.
culprits have done such transactions only on weekends where is no proper customer service.now-a-days every bank is providing 24X7 customer care service.
if such 24x7 service was available i could have requested for stop payment service soon after receiving the SMS alert.
2.) There is only one single password for netbanking login. where as other banks have provided multiple passwords like transaction id, transaction password, security device, other logical combination of code printed on back side of the ATM card.
HDFC doesnt have any such double security system . one password is leaked any sort of transaction can be done which is fully unsecured service.
3.) By default the Limit for TPT is 5.0 lacs. actually it should start from lesser value. But for cash withdrawl it is fixed at lesser value.
hence a chance for the hacker to sweep out the complete balance amount less that 5.0 lacs.
4.) In order to add a beneficiary account for TPT it takes 24 hours time to get registered but what actually does the process do for 24 hours as there is no relation security check between the beneficiary name and account number.
where as in cheque name of the beneficiary is important but in TPT funds transfer there is no such relation.
This point should be noted.
5.) You have provided virtual keyboard as a security for entering login details customer-id and password but at the same time if by mistake user enters from hard keyboard of the PC it accepts, then where is the security, there is no purpose of giving Virtual keyboard.
Actually when the provision comes for entering customer-id and password the system should not accept from hard keyboard.such service is available with all other banks.
6.) Since my money has been transfered to culprits account in another branch of HDFC bank then it is HDFC responsibility for reversal of the amount by any means.
Since the culprit person is absconding then HDFC verification team is also responsible for this as that culprit customer also holds gold debit card.
ther should be several proof documents to be submitted to get the gold debit card but HDFC has issued to a tom-dick 'n' harry customers.

I am a customer of HDFC bank(previously Centurion Bank Of Punjab limited). My account is in Faridkot branch(Punjab). I purchased a trouser costing Rs.450 from Priknit apparels limited, jalandhar, lajpat nagar showroom through my debit card(Maestro) on 2nd October, 2008. The amount was debitted from my account twice, but the company(Priknit) received the payment only once. On raising a query, the bank gave me neither a satisfactory answer nor some solution..though i contacted my home branch also. They say we cannot do anything.. But i want to know why i am being charged the double amount? Who will pay the extra amount? I want a proper solution for this problem.
You should not have accessed the netbanking from an unsecured system. I am accessing HDFC from years. I always use my own system. You do not want all thousands of users to suffer due to HDFC's increased security measures just because you have failed to take preventive measures. Anyway I am not blaming you. You have lost your money. And I understand what it feels like. If you keep on adding security measures there wont be any real use of such system. Instead of saving time, we will loose time. HDFC is a very paranoid bank in my experience compared to ICICI etc. I hope you don't want them to close the Netbanking service, Do you? Because that is the only way they could have prevented it from happening. I agree to you
r views on what they could have done to resolve it. I think a Police Case will do that. You can even file a complaint to RBI. But make sure that your claim is correct. Dont point on security measures. Talk about what they are supposed to do(but not done).

I have applied for my trading account in HDFC bank (branch name-Mosque Road, Bangalore) on the 10/01/2009. According to their commitment, my account should be open within 7 working days. Today i talked to customer care but acording to their statement they haven't recieved my application yet.

This is to inform you that i have saving account in hdfc bank, at nallasopara (west) Branch, dist. thane, my account no. is 06621000022596, I am having a problem with my account that on monday dated 15-06-2009, i was withdrawing the sum of Rs. 10, 000 from S.B.I ATM Nallasopara (W), but the transaction was decline with the message transaction failed due to technical reason and i din't get any money but money was been debited from my Account, I have launched a complaint with the HDFC Phone Banking on 15/6/09 the complaint no. is (mum052022) but still yet my account has not been credited with the amount. please kindly do the needfull as early as possible.
I have availed two lakhs loan for construction of my house. (The Loan A/c.No.914666507) for which, I submitted PDCs at your HDFC Bank retail loan service centre on 4/2/2009. cheque Nos. 863551 to 863561 & 873961 - 873975 i.e. 2264/- EMI. on every month 8th. but they claimed only two months i.e. April & May, then they didnot produced the June, July & August cheques as I given the said date, So kindly produce intime and claim said amount, otherwise we won't responsible for intrest or any penalties.
yesterday i have payed of my reliance cell phone bill of 1451Rs/- through netbanking with refence no. of 831194403 this much amount amount of money has been debited from my account but not transfered to reliance bank,
