HI All,

I have received my HDFC statement on Mat 3, 2009. For the past few months I have not been receiving my statements, but your reps state that statements have been sent on regular basis to me. On May 2, 2009 I spoke to one of your representatives (Name unknown) but I was told his Agent id is B50. Very courteous and really polite person. He understood my problem and said we will action the reversal of late payment fees, I was unaware of any finance charges as I hold ICICI bank CC for over 5 years now and I have heard of late payment fees being added if the payments are delayed but I have never heard of a bank charging you interest Fees & Late payment fees just because the payment was delayed by a few days. I personally feel this was situation based and not a deliberate intension. I would definitely approach the law and seek if this is a proper method of interest charges

As per the previous agents conversation I called back on May 05, 2009 and spoke to Ganesh Kumar C L30 Agent id as per your CRM. I don’t think I have ever spoken to anyone as rude as him. I come from a call centre back ground myself and I would never appreciate any of my agents speaking such language to a customer.

Let me give you a small insight of the call…..I call as per the first agents comments to call back after payment and reverse the charges. I explain to the agent of the situation very politely (if you have call recordings please do pull both calls to authenticate my claims). Immediate reaction of your agent interrupting my conversation “you should remember your payment dates and not dispute such things”. Wow amazing customer service. I again stop him and tell him that its none of his business to teach me moral values and he should just look at the previous agents comments and then talk.

He places me on hold for over 5 to 7 minutes and then returns back informing “ I have personally spoken to that agent and he has made no such promises”. I asked him if he is calling me a liar or was he proving to me that for some waiver I am calling. Sorry I am not that cheap and your agents should really have some basic customer service essence.

I have already had another instance which I am overly aggravated. My wife’s debit card was stolen in the month of November along with ICICI bank credit card. Its been over 7 months and I have been running pillar to post to get my claims. I always had a feeling that HDFC was a good bank but these 2 instances have just disappointed me to the core.
I too am having a similar terribly stressful experience dealing with Hometown, Marathalli, Bangalore. Wish I had read the reviews about the store before making any purchase from there.

Want to use this forum to convey clear and loud to my fellow shoppers to please do not fall prey to the Hometown logo of matching or beating competitors' lowest price; you will heavily for the few bucks saved by dealing with the delivery of your products.

I ordered an LCD TV, a refrigerator, a geyser and a rocker chair from the store, total amounting Rs. 72, 000/= a week ago and am still undergoing the agony of their highly unprofessional staff (including managers). The entire payment was made in full except for Rs. 37, 500/= for the refrigerator which I paid by ICICI bank (at par) cheque. I had to make innumerable phone calls to Hometown for the delivery of each of the item purchased. This was even more painful as for each of the item delivery, I ended up spending Rs. 1000/= in cab for going to my new apartment in whitefield from my sister's place in JP Nagar.

The ICICI cheque for the refrigerator got cleared on 3/11/2009 still when after my frustrations I went to the hometown store on 5/11/2009 and spoke with the manager Bernard, he told that the cheque is pending and the delivery can only be made when its cleared. Yesterday, upon suspecting this to be fishy, I checked my bank's online statement and was completely shocked to learn that the cheque had long been cleared. When I told this to the Hoemtown manager Bernard, instead of accepting the irregularity on their end and expediting the delivery, he again gave me the same crap namely, "it will be delivered tomorrow". I still don't know when that tomorow will come.

Will share this experience in all the online forums to help protect fellow consumers from a highly deceptive big showroom called "HomeTown".

Thanks,
Shweta
