[Resolved]  RPO Kolkata — Passport not issued

I applied for my passport on 6th October 2008. My application number is CAL-A[protected]. My police verification was done in Decemeber and then in February. I had two verification since I was not staying in my current residence for last 1 year. The police verification was atlast over after 4 months and the police report was sent to from the district DIO office (Barasat) on 5th March 2009. Till date i.e. even after almost 4 months RPO office says that they have not recieved the police report. Now they are advising me to submit again PP forms so that police verification can be initiated. That means it will again take another 4 or more months to complete the police verification and with no gaurantee that this time the police report will reach the RPO office. I can't believe that how can RPO not have turnaround time for such matters. If certain police reports are not recieved in time why can't they follow up. Also hard to believe that once a document is lost, an applicant has to go through all the hassel again.
