[Resolved] Samsung Microwave — WARRANTY CONFUSION | |||
I PURCHASED A SAMSUNG MICROWAVE CON28L CE1031LFB VIDE INV.[protected] ON[protected] FROM CROMA STORE BELAPUR. I PURCHASED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY OF 2 YRS ALSO. THE EXTENDED WARRANTY CARD INDICATED A MANUFACTURER WARRANTY OF 2 YRS AND EXTENDED WARRANTY OF ANOTHER 2 YEARS. THEREFORE AS PER THE DOCUMENTS AVAILABLE WITH ME THE WARRANTY WOULD BE VALID UPTO OCTOBER 2012. THE OVEN DEVELOPED SOME PROBLEM THIS WEEK AND I APPROACHED THE TOLL FREE NO. FOR EXTENDED WARRANTY SERVICE AND I WAS SURPRISED TO HEAR THAT THE WARRANTY EXPIRED IN OCTOBER 2011. THE MANUFACTURER WARRANTY WAS ONLY FOR ONE YEAR. WHEN I APPROACHED THE STORE IN BELAPUR YESTERDAY , THE STORE MANAGER-Mr.DAVID TOLD ME THAT IT WAS A MISTAKE ON THEIR PART FOR HAVING INDICATED ON THE CARD THAT THE MANUFACTURER WARRANTY WAS FOR TWO YEARS AND ACTUALLY IT IS ONLY FOR ONE YEAR. THEY ALSO SAID THEY COULD NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT AND I WOULD HAVE TO GET THE ERROR RECTIFIED BY A PAID SERVICE ONLY. AS A CUSTOMER, I FEEL CHEATED BECAUSE WHEN I AM GIVEN TO UNDERSTAND THAT I HAVE THE PRODUCT SECURED UNDER WARRANTY TILL OCT 2012, I WOULD LOOK FOR ANY MALFUNCTIONING ONLY PRIOR TO THE GIVEN DATE. HAD I KNOWN THAT THE WARRANTY WOULD EXPIRE IN 2011, I WOULD HAVE CALLED FOR THE SERVICE TO CHECK FOR ANY PROBABLE DEFECTS. AFTER HAVING PURCHASED FROM A REPUTED STORE LIKE CROMA, I FEEL THE SERVICES ARE ON PAR WITH ANY STREET VENDORS. FURTHER THE STORE MANAGERS ARE NOT EMPATHETICAL TOWARDS THE COMPLAINING CUSTOMERS AND UNAWARE THAT THIS COULD BE A BUSINESS DETERRENT. EVEN THOUGH THE WARRANTY MENTIONED ON THE MANUFACTURER BROCHURE COULD BE ONE YEAR, I GET A EXTENDED WARRANTY CARD ON PURCHASE OF THE ITEM. IF I AM TO LOOK AT THE PRECEDENCE OF DOCUMENTS, I AM ELIGIBLE TO SERVICES AS MENTIONED IN THE EXTENDED WARRANTY CARD. Was this information helpful? | |||
