Standard Chartered Bank — Card cancellation | |||
This is regarding the Enhancement pack linked to my credit card [protected]. In the month of February 2013, I had given my consent for the Enhancement card after SC(Standard Chartered) representative mentioned about all the benefits for the same. I was also communicated that if I cancel the card within 30 days, I shall be refunded the charges levied for this card. But I received the Enhancement pack card after a month of application and then I found that the associated brochure did not mention all the benefits that your representative had promised. Clearly the representative had made false promises just to sell the card. I called up customer care for the same. They said that I will be getting another card in few weeks that will have all the benefits. I waited for few weeks but I didnot recieve any card. Finally I requested for cancellation and sent back the kit in the month of March itself. Still I have made few payments against the Balance transfer account/Enhancement pack card account for 2 more months after cancellation request since I was conveyed that it will take some time to cancel the card on the system and I should make payments to avoid collection calls. But then I stopped making any further payments for this Enhancement card. I suppose it does not take more than 2 months to cancel a card. Moreover I have been paying for the card that I dont have assuming that I would be getting the refunds once the card is cancelled in your system. This is what I was told at the time of cancellation request. But now I get a communication from customer care that the cancellation request was beyond the time limit, so I shall not get any refund. Please bear in mind that I received the kit after a month and after that I raised the cancellation request and at that time also I had called up customer care regarding this asking since I got the card with such delay, shall I be getting any refund and I was told that I will get all refund since I had received the card with delay. I understand that request for cancellation is beyond 30 days limit of request of application but then it was fault from your side since I received the card only after a month and that too your representative had made false promises about the same. I have mailed several time to customer care since March. Everytime they reply the cancellation process is in progress. After 4 months, I receive a mail that I shall get no refunds. Now I cannot trust Standard Chartered bank any more. I fear I shall cancel my credit card and all relationship with Standard Chartered bank. HSBC and ICICI provide far superior service compared to you guys and They never make false promises and I never had any such issues with them since last 7 years. Was this information helpful? | |||
