[Resolved]  Videocon / Sansui 32inches LCD TV — Worst after sale service

I bought a brand new TV SANSUI LCD 32 inches through eBay India 0n 24 Feb 2010. I received the product by courier on time. When I opened the box there was no base stand for mounting the TV. This was informed to the Customer Care and they promised to make it available in 24 working hours. But nothing happened in 24 working hours. I went on calling the customer Care and finally it 10 working days to make it available from their Service Centre in Kottayam ( Prompt Services). The technician himself fixed the TV and a gave a demo on the functioning and left. I accompanied the technician up to my gate and came back to watch the TV when I was surprised to find only Black & White picture. I tried to contact the technician on mobile but I failed to get him. This was promptly reported to the Customer Care. The technician again came after a few days and there "netting on the screen", due to some manufacturing defect and hence the TV requires to be replace with a new one. But as the TV was not bought from the local Dealer,they could replace the defective part if I could arrange to to transfer the TV to the Service Centre.. Though It was sent to the service centre after paying Rs 700/- to the taxi, they did not do anything for nearly 45 days. I went on contacting the Customer Care not less than 20 times but there was no response except repeated assurances that it would be solved within one day. I contacted by email to Company. But no reply so far. I contacted the seller in Salem. He said he has reported the matter to the Company. But no response. Finally I told them that I proceed legally for damages and then it was repaired and returned on 17th April 2010.

I had to wait for 2 months to a newly bought TV. This is the type of SERVICE offered to the Customers once an item is bought from them. They could have easily replaced with a new TV !!! and solved the unpleasant situation. Beware of VIDEOCON PRODUCTS, Sansui is also now marketed and serviced by Videocon !!!!!

I am planning to proceed legally to get compensation for the deficiency in service.
