[Resolved]  Yatra.com — Levying of additional charges without showing this & the amount to the user during the booking process

I just booked a flight ticket from Guwahati to Delhi for 02 Nov 2009 on yatra.com. While I was entering information to book the ticket the flight fare showed Rs. 2,829/- & no where on any of the screens during the booking process stated that yatra.com will levy an additional fee of Rs. 55 for the booking. I went ahead & booked the ticket without verifying the amount when my credit card's "verified by VISA" screen appeared.

Upon speaking to the customer services of yatra.com (Yogesh Negi, Customer Relationship Team half an hour after the booking, at 2:20 AM 07 Oct 09) I was advised that the terms & conditions appear on yatra.com homepage. I checked it myself & it does not state the amount of additional fee. I have 3 points here:
1. Stating the terms & conditions on the homepage of a travel ticket booking website is deviously intentional as customers do not tend to read T&Cs on the home page but instead read them when making the actual booking. Customers need to check the "I have read & agree to.." disclaimer checkbox during the booking process.

2. The additional fee & its amount is never displayed on yatra throughout the booking process. The final amount appeared on the credit card (merchant)'s website because of additional verification by VISA.But I did not review the amount on this screen.

2. I cannot cancel the ticket now despite being duped of Rs. 55 because cancellation would incur a huge cancellation charge. I have been trapped.

This is to bring to notice & take appropriate punitive legal action against such business malpractice of yatra.com where customers are being trapped into.
