Recharge failure occurs when the communication link between the recharge portal (Freecharge in the present case) and the bank during the payment transaction snaps, owing to technical glitches at the back end. The third-party portal, in such cases, usually does not receive any response from the bank, and this leaves no proof of the transaction, as the portal does not process the recharge. You are fortunate enough to have lost a relatively small amount. I once lost ₹1000 during a recharge transaction and never received a refund.
