LG complaint no- RNA[protected]
LG PC monitor 18.5 inch
Model LG Flatron W1934S
Price 6800
It got 5 Year warranty(3Yr + 2 Yr extended warranty)
Purchased on 28 Aug 2009
Location - Trivandrum, Kerala
Issue - Monitor panel issue on 22 Aug 2014(With in extended warranty)
Straight lines appears horizontally at the centre.
I registered complaint to LG customer care on 23 Aug 2014.
They revert back next day.
And assured to replace monitor asap.
After 3 days got SMS " Your complaint has been closed .Thanks..."
I contacted local LG customer care at Karamana, Trivandrum,
they said its no problemthey will do replacement once new monitor arrive.
After 1 month informed me they had stopped
manufacturing old type panels.
And informed me to give refund amount of 15% of
monitor's price(i.e.. by deducting depriciation amount)
Now they need me to return my PC for getting the refund.
Its not written any where in the Terms and Conditions of extended warranty
that they take back the monitor and give refund of
just Rs1000(after deducting depreciation amt).
Its solely the responsibility of manufacturer to replace the faulty panel.
At last all the burden is on the consumers shoulder .
Email i got in 2009 includes this in Terms n Conditions:
"In the event of any unforeseen circumstances,
spares not being available then the company's
prevailing depreciation rules and policies
will be binding on the purchaser
to accept as a commercial solution in lieu of repairs."
