LG Electronics — Their service damaged my AC installation and now they are demanding more money | |||
I purchased a LC 2 ton AC from Shah electronics, Kukatpally, Hyderabad about 2-3 years back. The installation was included with the price and they installed it in my house. The persons who were sent for installation were pathetic. They damaged the copper pipes which I later discoved had cracks from where the gas leaked out completely. I called up LG customer care, asked them to send professionals to detect the issue and fix it properly. These folks came welded the areas where they suspected leaks, refilled the gas, etc. and promised no more issues. After using for about 2 months, the intensity of cooling was again diminished. By that time summer was over, so it was not used thereafter until about couple months back when there was no cooling at all. I called up LG again and the support person said that they knob was not tighteted properly from where the has leaked. They also gave a quote of Rs 2000 just for refilling the gas. I was upset over their work that was done last time and told them that I cant keep refilling gas as the AC installation has issues. And that they need to go a good job in fixing this. I asked them to send some technical team to look into why the AC keeps leaking gas. Their team came and said there are several issues including heavy bents in the copper pipe that may be leaking gas, lack of clamps used for fitting causing vibration of the AC and lack o[censored]se of sealant while tightening the bolts. They also quoted a price of Rs 4000 to fix these issues with just a 3month warranty period. All this time I was following up with their division head here Mr. Satyanand, who turned a blind eye to my concerns of poor service provided by LG team. He just asked to talk to one, Mr. Rakesh, who later said nothing is in his hands and that I just had no other option but to pay Rs 4000 if I want to go ahead with the fixes. I also found out that LG had been using local vendors, one called Nikhil enterprises, for catering to consumer service requests, and these folks had little or no expertise in fixing ACs. Whats more, they damaged my AC installation to an extent the cost of repair is too high. That too, with no guarantees given by any parties responsible. My main concern here is companies like LG giving pathetic services to consumers and still able to demand more money for their poor quality job. Their approach neither imbibes trust nor reliability in me, which makes it even more difficult. Should I pay 4000 again and wait for the same issue to occur, and keep paying for filling gas year over year. Thier warranty of 3 months is useless because the leaks are sometimes minute that it may take a few months for you to notice. Over a year, you surely will see it no longer works. No accountability for what they are doing, hiring ill-trained vendors, who equally contribute to the woes faced by consumers like me. The approach of their high officials is pathetic, I wonder, how long they will be in business, if this continues. Was this information helpful? | |||
