[Resolved]  Tata Sky — Awful Service

My id number is [protected]. there are 2 set top boxes connected to this ID. yesterday was the last day for renewal and payment of Rs. 12, 020 was paid through YOUR Tatasky website, from my HDFC bank account via net transfer. After making the payment i checked with my bank and the amount of 12, 020 was debited. Under normal circumstances i should have recd an instant message from TATASKY acknowledging my payment and confirming my renewal ... INSTEAD your helpline people informed me that I should call them and intimate them with payment details, only then will the renewal be activated .. (SERIOUSLY ????) Nevertheless, being the last day for payment I did that and i was greeted by a seriously outdated response from your SENIOR service advisor, "your transaction is pending and we will update u in 24 to 48 hrs" (WHAT ????) I requested the senior service advisor, a lady named Leela, that it would be unacceptable if my connection was disconnected on account of non payment because that was certainly not the case and if at all there was any doubt of payment not being made it was an internal inefficiency from TATASKY which is not MY problem. I requested her to record this complaint and she gave me a reference number 1-[protected]. I wake up this morning to find my connection deactivated. So i call your helpline, and again speak to a Jr attendant who then transfers me to a Sr service advisor Ms Vani who yet again informs me that my payment of 12, 020, although showing in the system from 27th Aug is still pending and hence my connections have been deactivated AND "your transaction is pending and we will update u in 24 to 48 hrs" . When i asked about my complaint to Ms Leela from the previous day with ref no 1-[protected], she was clueless. I then insisted that another complaint be registered and she then gives me JRRBZ6N AND says "your transaction is pending and we will update u in 24 to 48 hrs" Fantastic !!! In this day and age, this kind of inefficiency from a giant like TATASKY is unacceptable and raises questions on the financial conduct of the institution, as well as the pathetic, insensitive customer service and meaningless procedures followed. A. it appears that fake complaint references are generated to momentarily satisfy angry customers. If true, this must be dealt with firmly. B. At present, after paying my renewal fees (for 12 months) in time, my connections are disconnected. For this I demand a detailed explanation from TATASKY failing which such actions would be considered fraudulent, calling for suitable legal action to be initiated against TATASKY.

Within two hours of marking a copy of this complaint to the CEO of TATA SKY i was pleasantly surprised to receive a call from the desk of the CEO, who instantly re - activated both my connections and assured me that the issues would be duly addressed and resolved in the coming week.
Tata Sky customer support has been notified about the posted complaint.
