Clutch Damaged in an year. Single Driver. Driven by owner. Already own a Maruthi car. This is the second car so I am not new to driving as well.
This certainly a manufacturing defect. The car service center asking for 20K to fix this. can some one help us to sort out this issue.

Updated by Janaki Sekar Purchased a Volkswagen Vento Highline Petrol an year back after comparing Nissan Sunny, Honda City, and Skoda Laura. Handled by a single Driver and done with 20k kms and One service done. Today the acceleration did not happen as expected at the middle of the road and with difficulty drove to the service center to know that the clutch plate is burnt. The service dealer claims that the car is driven in half clutch so it is burnt. Everyday in India or anywhere for that matter, Bumper to Bumper traffic is unavoidable in peak times and we got to drive in half clutch. So should I and encourage my friends to avoid buying a VW car in case you got to face bumper to bumper traffic in the city we live in?!Please note that clutch comes under wear and tear and it neither comes in warranty nor in Insurance. On top of paying 20k from my pocket I am now wondering how to handle my Vento anymore on the roads with out using half clutch absolutely. This clearly is a manufacturing defect that they refuse to agree on.
