I got multiple phone calls from personnel claiming to be army officers and willing to rent my property in Kolkata. One person, alias Avdhesh Kumar (WhatsApp number [protected]) and another person, alias Deepak Pawar (WhatsApp number [protected]) showed interest after seeing images of my apartment. Their modus operandi stays the same as I am seeing in this blog: agreeing to rent my apartment as per my rent quote, followed by request to add them as my beneficiary and token transfer of Rs 5. This is funny and I could immediately realize a scam is under way.
