Aditya Promoters Pvt. Ltd. — Fooling people with the name of Corel

i recieved the call yesterday, and i contacted corel.com and informed them about the same.
person from corelindia.co.in told me i m using corel on 3 computers whereas my shop has no computers, only 1 netbook which has xp with older configurations, not good enough for supporting any corel products.
what should i do now?
as per my understanding i have never used corel on my netbook or any other pcs or machines or within my organisation.

please advise.

Thank you very much for sharing such an interesting experience with us, Actually We got the same fake call from www.corelindia.co.in, describing that they are from corel. Also they told us that we are using the pirated version of Corel Draw, which is totally wrong information because we are not using such kind of softwares. They try to convince us that they found such information from the web and they can go ligaly if we not buy such licenses from them.
They are just peoples, even they didn't know how to talk in english.
When I go in detail by asking about some technical questions, they even didn't answer it.
So I google and found that many of the companies (Like yours) got the same call, and the doubt got clear that that was the
fake call.

We too got similar call from one "Bhagyashree Shetty" saying the same things, virtually threatening us to pay for the licence of the software which we never used. I did same investigation of check whois details of corelindia.co.in and found the same details as mentioned in the initial complaint. They probably get our contact, name and address from MCA website.

Thanks for the post. Even i got call same thing was said to me that am using pirated Corel and they detected it then sent me a mail with same thing that as per end user agreement they detected it. There website is fake Corel.co.in which forwarded to orignal Corel.com orignal Website didn't had any info regarding theis landline no. When i confronted him he said i will and hung up. Also as you mention he had bad communication skills probably doesn't even know english and repeating same lines as dialogues.

I have habit of googling if someone calls me and i find it suspicious same thing happend when i got call for some dinning plus membership you google about that frauds.

People should post online regarding these frauds which helps everyone.

Thanks guys I just received a threatening call from dem, the fun part was he said my company is using the software from past 1 and half year, I just laughed and said Sir my startup was established in the current year that to in the month of april, but kuddos to tat guy who still continued threating me to pay 80k or else my office would be raided and all my pcs will be sealed n they will take it .

Do you all think they are just Threatening people to force people to buy their software(increasing their sales) or can they actually raid office & take any legal action too as described by people above? As this seems like an operation of sort.

Javed lakhani also called me this month 10 times and also corel software seller Dolphin computer used his reference from Nehru place to sell it. If you browse for this name with corel there is only one reference in google see attached file. This seems fake. Let me know how to stop these people. Also I have already complaint in much detail to Corel US and Canada about this episode.

I investigating the entire matter from past 3 month.

Here is the result.

Javed lakahni is Employee of ARK Sole distributor of Corel in all over india.

You can check ARK name in http://www.coreldraw.com/in/resellers/ also dolphin computer name present there.

If they are authorised partner that means they are authorize to use legal action, but only if you are using pirated software of Corel.

I discuss these entire matter with country head of corel(as per request no disclosing his name).

My Incident please suggest.

I got the same call from javed, I thought he is threatening me and ignored but after 15 days I received letter from corelindia on the letter head of Corel.

Still I think he is fooling me so i start ignoring call and ignore the letter.

After 10 days of time 2 police and 1 person from corel visited my office and they checked my system as they have authorisation letter of court.

I have nothing to do. they found corel software in 5 system installed and in 3 previously installed (but un-installed by us).

We come under compliance and have to pay lot of money as penalty. I am in shock. Then later stage its come to mutual but we have to purchase 8 licence even we have only usage of 5.

I asked with corel.com regarding help but they don't have knowledge regarding this incident but the licence which came its from corel.com.

After receiving licence i contacted them(corel.com) again now they know that we purchased licences.

So i think corel.com guys only customer care representative who don't have knowledge regarding corel india. but this company is authorise to take action against pirated licences. be aware.

2ndly can you share the person name calling from corel.
3rdly if you are not using any corel then you can give them a written declaration.

I have also got a call from a lady called Dimple from the phone number +[protected] forcing us to pay Rs.70, 000 for the license, although we have used pirated version, but my doubt is, how they get to know even if we were not using internet connection.

I have also been receiving calls from No. +[protected] Mr. Nitesh Anchan from email id @corelindia.co.in stating that they have detected pirated use of Corel Draw in our office. Also they have sent emails regarding this & threatened to take action if we don't buy license copy. I have searched all my office PC but there is no corel draw installed in any PC.

Please suggest what action can be taken against such phone calls & emails.

I have also got a call from a person called Sohan Ghatkar from the phone number +[protected] forcing us to pay Rs.68, 000 for the license. If i not agree to buy the license then they will go for legal action and that will be charge 80, 000 - 2, 00, 000. What can i do please suggest [protected]@webkingsoftware.com. I got a call/mail from a guy named Rahul Chavan(+[protected]) accusing me for using Illegal version of Corel Draw. And the biggest of all time joke is I never used corel draw in my life. So don't bother them. These guys are real scammers.

I got a call from number [protected] saying that they are speaking from corel's legal department and will take action if i dont purchase a license from ianimate...when i forced them to tell me where is she calling from she told me that they are talking from aditya promoters pvt ltd and have tie ups with corel draw to take legal actions in India.. told them that i will purchase the license online but the kept insisting that you will get a fraudulent license if i get it from web..also bhavika vaithalani dropped me an e-mail stating eula and mentioning site name as coreindia.co.in surely it isnt a site..it just redirects to corel official website...please confirm that this is just another scam going on?

Dear Friends, No. I don't think so this is fake company.. Because, I have subscribed Corel X7 Products legally from this company and i have got original License, Login Download Panel. I have successfully registered my products with Corel.com.. Offers are really good. Even i got same phone call from Mumbai based Company. But i selected my software dealer partner from Bangalore and got completely genuine software and license for less than the Aditya's price. If they are offering Corel X8 + 2 years License, then it is worth to buy. If you take Split Bill, CorelDraw Costs you only 30k. But That additional cost what they are taking (Forcefully) is for 2 years Subscription to Corel Support and all processing fees.

I am owner of ZMV Advertising and graphic designing company in Noida and frequently receiving calls from Corel Employee Javed Lakhani also i have checked and they are Authorised Compliance Executive.

Please do not take this lightly as it will take you and your organisation to many Legal Consequences.

Seems like these people belong to some resellers and are trying to push sales by threatening. My understanding is that they have no legal right to inspect or enter your premises or force an email or call response unless you allow them. Same way they can not take any legal action. What experience did anyone on this forum have with these people? My suggestion would have been that if you did use licenses then its better to regularise but I would not do it through these people who are there to extort...it would be better to procure new licenses either directly from Corel or through other resellers. Thoughts?
