Hello,
I'm going through the same harrowing experience.
Corel offers online amnesty program @ USD 338 but these guys say its not valid in India.
Is this true?

I got the same fake call from & a mail from corelindia.co.in . but thanks to this platform which have been preventing us from being cheated. below i mentioned the contact information of the mail i received.

But one initiative all people who receive this email/calls should take is that, whenever any of those got action(police visit/corel person visit) or any kind of action, ""Kindly post it here " with all your experience.

Only who post till today not after today. because some of the persons who post above are fake, and these fraud people who are doing all these scams, they are only posting on this forum.( I think Raghu Tumkur is a person who is involved in this scam and he is only replying to give all o[censored]s tensions.)

Some people say they are fake some said they are genuine.

What i got after received call from Corel India, just searched the whole thing in detailed and found.

these re-seller also recommended by Corel india.

Bad communication in English doesn't prove that you are fraud even i don't have good communication skill.

As per my discussion with lawyer (as per law if you are using pirated software company can go to legal action against us and without any warrant police can arrest and punishment is 7 days to 3 years. penalty amount can be between 50000 to 3 lakh.

I purchased 3 licence recently and i am not here to support anybody.

Please concern with your lawyer and get confirmed if you are using pirated software.

If you are not simply write a declaration in your company letter head.

They are nothing but extortionists. I'm surprised Corel is not taking any action against them. If Corel is with them, then we should stop using Corel & boycott them for such harassment being caused in their name and them being silent about it.

I think this makes a good police case as well under charges of extortion & harassment causing mental trauma.

This applies to all calls people are getting on behalf of Corel Draw in India (New Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai etc etc), I think you guys need to read this. I feel this has all answers which you are looking for..

This is a kind of a Legal fraud which Corel associated people are involved in.

After reading the complaints i am feeling ashamed how our Indian Brothers/Sisters are behaving while working under a MNC. I got similar call stating that i am using pirated software and further sent me the same similar mail.

Myth: Nobody can trace your system till the time you revert them on email, that is a marketing call gimmick which they are playing with you.

So the game is:

1. First of all: Right now these people are genuine callers and can also take some action if you are using any pirated software but they are only associated dealers with Corel Draw, this team which is calling is paid by an India level Distributor (because since these long days they have also been working and updating themselves with all these complaints). These guys have made several bogus websites to acclaim that they are actually Corel Corporation.

2. The person behind this is ARK Infosolutions Pvt. Ltd.(https://arkinfo.in/), a delhi based company (F-28, OKHLA INDUSTRIAL AREA, PHASE-1, NEW DELHI South Delhi DL 110020 IN) actually initially i believe they were working in name of aditya promoters as per your blog. So they have changed their name because that is blowing their cover. A distributor is making calls on behalf of Corel Complaince? It is a big thing scaring people to grow sales.

3. Corel corporation is not even interested in resolving this because they are in canada, so for them India is a very small market. They might be hiring Indians only for support of Corel assistance.
Basically Corel will also not help because assistance is done by Indians. So you are lacking true information.

Basically these guys are dealers and in multiple businesses, just want to sell all products in India.

7. Ok, now how do you receive such calls, these guys hire call center executives who go through all local business directories such as yellowpages, just dial, indiamart etc and try to find people who are related to designing industries. From there they get your numbers and make you calls bluntly assuming that you must be using Corel Draw. Now if you will say no, they will play 3 patti with you thinking of some advantage over it.

8. Corelindia.co.in is actually bought by ARK Infosolutions Pvt Ltd. This domain is not even owned by Corel Corporation. You can also buy one like on godaddy.

9. Nowdays these guys are claiming POA of Corel Draw. Funnily Corel Corporation doesn't have any physical address in India. That POA must be some kind of 10-12 page agreement between Corel Draw and ARK Infosolutions Pvt. Ltd or TRENDSETTERS INFOSERVICES PRIVATELIMITED. Corel Draw can never give any actual POA to anybody because after having a POA any body can sell Corel Corporation company to anybody. So the POA these guys are talking must be a saver for them if you do an Police complaint against them.So, by taking a cover under POA they are actually generating Leads.

10. These guys are basically making you calls to start an official communication between you and them and so that they can drag you under some compliance but trying their tits bits.

Solution to all your Problems:

1. Do not use Corel Draw, there are so many free alternates. It is worthless to talk to corel because i assume they are allowing this to happen.

2. Whenever you get such calls Lodge an FIR in nearest police station. Atleast file a NC in nearest police station in your city by finding their local addresses, so that it will help if harassment increases, it will make your FIR stronger. Lodge an FIR with the Phone no, Executive name and the company name.

3. These guys are skipping TRAI acts of making such Marketing cum Compliance calls. So you get one more reason to out in FIR for harassment. If you want to go further get a lawyer.

4. Always use Linux instead of Windows so as you don't even buy Windows Original Software as Linux is completely free.

5. For designing always use GIMP a free designing software or else there is online photoshop software and many more softwares which are available for free.

6. The best solution would be if we all go together and just land up at there office with our Local Police at there offices.

7. Always remember such guys always try to act smart, so be open and ready for legal activities. It is just a scare which we think.

One more important thing. Do you guys know?? there is one employee of theirs in this blog complaint also, so that they can check what is the complaint status against them.

today 9th Feb 2018 time 5.26 pm got a call from number +[protected] saying that they are speaking from corel's legal department and will take action if i dont purchase a license from ianimate..I told her tht neither i m using any computer system not corel software.. then why u r telling such things..thn she said, sent me mail to us tht u r not using corel s/w..I gave my mail id to send me details but still i m waiting mail from them ..not received yet ..

Hi I received the following email from trendsettersindia.co.in domain.When looked upon on Who is it says as "ARK Infosolutions Pvt Ltd" after googling about them found this link.

This guy called Naveen called me today and said some of our employees were using Maya and I knew that no one was using it since we were a development firm.SO I enquired my employees quickly and collected reports for Softwares installed.Found out that no such software was installed.

How do I address this guy now when he calls next time ? Is there a place to file a complaint ?

Important question is this guy has also tagged person from Autodesk with him in the e-mail.

The same company is harassing people saying they're using Sketchup without license. They called us saying they're in India on behalf of Trimble, and claiming to have traced 5 computers using Sketchup in our company. Since we don't use Sketchup and don't even have 5 computers, and also because they had called last year claiming they detected 13 computers using Sketchup, we understood that again it's fraud. Our next step will be legal action against them if the harassment continues. If you want to purchase the software, just do it from the official website not from local resellers who may not be authorized. Btw, the emails shown by others are so respectful, the one we received and the phone call was disrespectful and threatening.

They may be resellers of CorelDraw but they're not authorized to sell Sketchup!

These companies are legal software compliance companies but that doesn’t give them any rights to sneak into someone’s office or start the blame game. Even genuine software users are extensively harassed by these companies.
If they accuse you o[censored]sing pirated software, you have all the rights to ask for some evidence on email regarding such usage. If they expect us to follow the law every accusation is backed by evidence. If you don’t use their software, they will not be able to provide any evidence.

Even if someone is an authorized dealer of particular software he or she can’t directly blame someone o[censored]sing pirated software without proper evidence. Nobody can enter your office premises without a valid court order in your name or your company’s name.

These so called legal compliance companies will insist on getting software compliance done from them. But you can choose not to. You can get it done from a trusted source and keep a report with you in case any questions arise.
These companies usually see your social media profiles and call you up assuming that you may fall prey to their tough talking. Use a call recording app and record their calls if you want. Ask them for some valid evidence for their emails.

If they are accusing you without any evidence, go to their social media pages and write everything that you are facing.

All the above points are applicable only if you don’t use pirated software.

It is official. These are only phishing calls. After repeated calls to pay money, I have filed a report in the Navi, Mumbai Police HQ Roadpali Rd.

The police have noted my complaint and asked me to initially register the same to TRAI. They have also guided me how to do this. For the reference of others use the below link

So my complaint was

I have received an SMS stating that the complaint was registered with TRAI. And also that an action will be taken in 7 days.

After a few days i have checked with the local police. The inspector conducted a preliminary investigation and found that these guys represent a private organization and the get information from Just Dial. Then they try their luck in harassing business owners. They said that they will get in touch with the main Corel Coporation to let them know that this is unfair business practice.

I got the same call today. Seems fake, thanks to this thread I got clarified

my younger brother in new delhi used pirated software once to convert a cdr. file into pdf. and he got a call after 6 months followed by email. what should he do? he is just a commerce student. please help anyone?
