I am writing to formally complain about a serious incident of fraud involving Hotel Garib Nawaz, which is listed on your platform.
On December 26th and 27th, 2025, I made a Agoda Booking ID [protected] for this hotel through Agoda.com. The listed contact person was an individual named Asif Ali (phone number: +[protected].
After completing the online booking, I called the contact number for confirmation. The person identifying as Asif Ali informed me that my Agoda booking was not valid during the ongoing URS festival season. He insisted that I cancel my Agoda reservation and instead pay him directly—demanding ₹4, 000 per day (₹8, 000 total) via UPI.
Under pressure and assuming this was a legitimate requirement, I cancelled the Agoda booking and transferred the ₹8, 000 to the provided UPI ID. A transaction record is available in my bank statement as proof.
This individual and Hotel Garib Nawaz have engaged in clear fraudulent behavior by:
1. Refusing to honor a valid Agoda booking.
2. Coercing me into cancelling it.
3. Soliciting an illegal direct payment.
The fact that this fraudulent entity is listed on Agoda.com raises serious concerns about the vetting process on your platform. This not only reflects poorly on Agoda's credibility but also puts other customers at risk.
I have raised this issue to urge Agoda to:
· Immediately investigate Hotel Garib Nawaz and the listed contact.
· Take strict action, including removal from your platform.
· Refund any fees or commissions earned from this listing.
· Strengthen verification processes to prevent fake or fraudulent listings.
This matter should be addressed urgently in Agoda's own interest to maintain trust and ensure no other traveler falls victim to similar scams.
I expect a prompt investigation and resolution. I am prepared to provide all necessary evidence, including booking details and transaction proofs.
