I am here to inform you about illegal slaughtering of animals that is taking place on a regular basis in the residential area next to Nagar Nigam, Lohia Marg, Civil Lines, Prayagraj.
There are few non-veg food venders on the Lohia Marg between Nawab Yusuf Road and MG Marg i.e. the road next to Nagar Nigam. The smell persists all day in specific time-slots, and increases in the late hours after 12:00 am mid night, which seems to be because of meat slaughtering in bulk amount in a hiding space or juggi-jhopris.
There was a similar situation before the lockdown period, but now since the shops are permitted to open it has again started polluting the environment. The smell is so bad at times that it can be recognized from far off towards the Coffee House – IPEM School square, and it becomes literally unbearable to breathe.
The non-veg vendors are unlicensed and the food items sold are harmful as it is unsure of which meat is being used. It is equally dangerous for the atmosphere since it is undeniable that the spread of all sorts of virus and bacteria caused by this act will lead to multiple diseases to those who are residing in the zone.
The government agencies are dealing head-on with the pandemic situation, for which it is essential to prioritize environment hygiene. But the effort goes in vain if the local dwellers in an area use mischievous ways in operating an unlicensed business, and especially if it is relating to food items that creates filth in the atmosphere.
I expect the administration will take strict action and ensure to put-off these vendors as soon as possible. It is also seen that such illegal venders start selling different products during police raids, or departmental works and few days in continuation; but return to the same state once the situation normalizes.
Kindly look over the issue, and take serious actions against such acts before it creates havoc conditions in the area.
