I raised a genuine complaint via Atomberg’s official WhatsApp support chat. Within 15 minutes, I got a call from a scammer pretending to be from Atomberg. He had my full name, mobile number, address, product complaint details, and even the official reference number from the chat — all of which I had entered in Atomberg’s verified WhatsApp support.
The scammer demanded ₹1300 as a service charge, claiming it would be refunded by the technician upon showing the product bill. He even said confidently:
Upon confrontation, he admitted that he had hacked Atomberg’s backend system or chat database and can see live chats and extract personal information.
“I earn ₹1.3 lakh every day from people like you. Nobody complains for ₹1300.”
This is a serious privacy breach, especially since my home address was also visible to him, creating a real security threat to me and my family.
🔸 I have already submitted a complaint to the Cyber Crime portal.
🔸 I have call recording of the scammer admitting all details.
🔸 I’m also escalating this issue on LinkedIn and Twitter with proof.
I request Atomberg Technologies to:
Investigate the data leak and how this scammer got access.
Report the breach transparently to all customers.
Improve data security practices immediately.
This is not a simple scam — this is a serious failure of data protection on Atomberg's part.
