Auto Rickshaws — con driver - rip off!

Hi everybody,
As bangalore has grown, it has brought some tricky auto rickshaw drivers coning people. Me and my family boarded an auto rickshaw number ka 02 9359 on 24th july 2017 at 10 pm from gopalan mall on bannerghatta road. The driver asked for one and half meter and i agreed. The normal route to bhuvaneshwari nagar (Bsk 3rd stage) takes costs about rs.90/-. I noticed that the meter was showing rs.160/-. The rickshaw was very neat and clean so was the driver.
Upon alighting, i objected to the excess fare and paid rs.200/- (2x100), asking for change of rs.60/-. The driver asked for 250/- turning around to see meter and said please pay the usual fare but insisted to pay rs.250/-. I told him that i have already paid rs.200/- and he has to return rs.60/- *1.5 times o[censored]sual cost = rs.135/-). The story starts now...
He showed me 2 - rs.10/- and said i have not paid him rs.200/-. I had only 5 notes of rs.100/- and had the balance of 3 notes, which i showed him to prove that i had paid rs.200/-. He got into an argument and by the time i could act, he snatched another rs.200/- in my hand and scooted, almost avoiding hitting an oncoming mobike. The trick was to hide the currency first i gave him and argued that i have not paid any money. Baffled, i lodged a complaint of excess fare on btp mobile app and further called 100 and was advised to call 1095 who in turn asked me to call[protected], which i did.
I informed of the incident and a very courteous cop on the other end took the details and suggested that he will raise the complaint next day.
The bottom line...
Beware of such con artists, they are fast and smart to look at. They talk very politely making you comfortable.. This is the trick. They hide the amount you pay and scoot. Remember, the auto did not have the yellow colored license paper either. Post this, while i am writing this, i recall, his comments before our boarding, to one of his fellow auto driver... Bega bartini kano... Fix mado... (I will come soon... Fix another...). Now i understand that these drivers are con artists, who trick the passenger and are untraceable due to non availability of checksum o[censored]nlicensed autos in city. They perhaps work in groups and protect others drivers of same ilk if some one fights in such incidents.
My advice...
Don't be tricked... Report it asap. Your being complacent encourages such con artist to fleece you and others. I know that it is painful and cumbersome process to interface with police department on such incidents, but i suppose, police are not idle, they have their own methods to track such incidents, even though may you not be beneficiary in a jiffy to get your problems resolved. But, it helps cops in knowing the event and eventually nabbing such drivers, which you may not be informed. Please help cops know such tricks, in turn to help co - travelers who may be victims or become victims.
