I wish to file a consumer complaint against Bagchee Books regarding **Order #ORD[protected]** for misleading pricing and false advertising.
On October 11, 2026, at 3:07 PM EDT, Bagchee confirmed my order for *Nemai Ghosh's Kolkata* at **USD 99.90 with free shipping**. However, at 11:05 PM the same day, Mr. Malay K. Bagchi informed me that the book was out of print and demanded **USD 360**, approximately 3.6 times the advertised and confirmed price, to fulfill the order.
I objected and requested that Bagchee honor its advertised price. Within four minutes of my complaint, Bagchee unilaterally cancelled my order, citing a "stock issue, " despite having offered to supply the same book at a substantially higher price.
**This sequence raises serious concerns about misleading advertising, unfair pricing practices, and arbitrary order cancellation.** I request that the appropriate consumer protection authority investigate these practices and take appropriate action.
