Bajaj Finance — October payment done one day earlier, but they are adding interest to emi

EMI bill payment date is OCT 5th, i paid on 4th OCT. They sad it will be adding to next month emi, and said me to pay again with interest for OCT month.

why to pay interest if i have paid on time.
Manager said that it will be added to next month emi, now i need to pay 4, 723 emi with interest.
