Bangalore Water Supply & Sewerage Board [Bwssb] — Disputed bill not resolved for past 7 years.

Dear BWSSB members,

My Pranams to you all !!! I am writing this after all my attempts to resolve the matter for a solid 7 years.

I am simply appalled by the way how my case has been handled by BWSSB without any resolution for the past 7 years. This is in spite to visiting the Kundanahalli office many many times. For your info. I travel all the from San Francisco, USA to the BWSSB office every time (almost every year sparing the Covid years) and is no fun doing this for past 7 years. I had so much faith and belief in the system which now has been shattered with such a high bureaucracy and negligence in handling my case, not to mention how much harassment that my tenants, my property manager and myself had to face. Its always been a humble request all these years and with no end in sight, I had to resort to finally formalize through this complaint.

It all started with the bill amounting to 40k that was due to meter fault. The meter was replaced eventually after many visits, but the bill amount kept on adding due to interest that shouldn't have been to begin with. Finally, it snowballed to 2.47 lakhs with not a single drop used by us !!! Based on Mr. Anwar Mirza advice, the then EE, I sent a DD for 1.25 Lakhs to at least initiate the process of taking care of the bill. Its been 4 years from the time we sent the letter with no resolution in sight. At this time of writing Mr. Mirza has been replaced by Mr. Darshan who wouldn't even respond to calls and text messages.

My effort on contacting the chariman Mr. Jayaraman has been in vein after numerous requests to Mr. Sharath. We also met Mr. Somashekar who was then Cheif Engineer, but could not move a needle with AECS office staff. My personal experiences with the staff at the ACES east office is another story that would take another 5 pages. I distinctly remember all the names after numerous trips!!!

Finally, spoke to Mr. Kumar Naik this week who is willing to look into the issue and resolve to the satisfaction. Nevertheless, I wanted to provide the details so the concerned people know about this can act immediately before I escalate to other Leaders.

I am sure that you sympathize with all the things that I had to face these 7 years. I would like to have all the pending charges waived and also refund the DD amount that I paid for no fault of ours. You should be happy that I am not asking for my travel expenses !!

I would like to speak to Mr. Jayaraman to highlight the trigger point for all this that I wouldn't want to describe in this complaint which would not be a responsible act on my part. I am hopeful that I will be given an opportunity to speak. I have enclosed some of the emails and documents along with this complaint. Please please please help and I don't know how else I can request honestly.
