Two week back the bbmp dug up the gutters thereby destroying all the connections at home - telephone, broadband, electricity & broke the draingage pipes going tot he pit. We had taken a day leave to set up all the things and spent about 6000/= to get this done again. Again yesterday, the bbmp people have dug the gutter and cut the telephone line - work is not progressing at all and we cannot keep repairing th ings everyday. Why are using JCB to do this small work and destroying the private property of people, while this can be done manually. Or i[censored]sing JCB, make sure someone supervises the person doing the work. We are just fed up of bbmp for having repeatedly destroying things.

The area I am talking about is Akshaynagar II Block in Rammurthynagar - for a month work is going on with very little progress causing inconvenience & hardship to the residents.

Please look into the m atter and speed up the work .

    Hi,

I am a resident of # 305, Hagdoor Road, Whitefield. A Hutch tower right beside our main entrance has been creating havoc for us for over a year.

The tower's generator is right next to our main entrance, the noise that it generates and the exhaust fumes make it difficult for us even to stand in our compund and we have been having all our doors and windows completely shut at all times. We have contacted Hutch authorities and have made repeated pleas to atleast move the generator to the other side of their site where there are no houses and have the exhaust pipe pointing away from residences but in vain.
In Hyderabad the Municipal authorities in similar cases have ordered for de-stalling the tower due to public inconveninece, would like to request the BBMP Mahadevapura to look into this serious concern of ours and help us to lead a safer and healthier life.

    Regards

    Attn: Health & Environment Engineer

Few contract employees are deputed to Prashanth Extension - Hopefarm to clean the drainage. All dirts removed are put on the main road and spread over. It is stinking and the Contract supervisor is not listening or co-operating with the residents. It is creating more health hazard. Engineer concerned to look into this and get it removed from the main roads, otherwise dirt will fall back to the drain and chock again and no purpose is served.

May the bbmp authorites look into it.
        Dear Sir,

I live at No.211/2, 24th F Cross, Behind Muneshwara Temple, EJIPURA, B'lore 47. In our lane totally 9 (Nine) buildings exist and since the time BBMP has done Underground Drainage system we are facing problems of drain blockages. Inspite of several complaints to the concerned authorities the problems have not been sorted out and the drain waste lashes back to the house causing severe problems. It is unfortunate that after paying taxes sincerely to BBMP we have to undergo such harrassments.

The total underground sewerage system is blocked in the area and needs the thorough cleaning and maintenance.

Would appreciate an immediate response from the concerned authorities. Hope the BBMP is listening.

        Thanks & Regards,

I am a resident of ISRO layout, near Kumaraswamy layout, 10th main road. Near Srinidhi stores, the drainage line is open for the last few years and strong foul smell comes through out the day. The whole area stinks like hell. Two beautifull parks are adjacent to this culvert and because of this bad smell people hesitate to come to the park.

I reside at House no 565, 10th main road, ISRO Layout. I request you to kindly look into this and rectify this before it aggravates.

Kindly close the drainage immediately otherwise it is impossile to live here.

If you would like to see every day dead rats on the roads & crows dogs fighting for the dead ones visit HAL II Stage especially 18th A B C D Mains on 100 Feet Road so called one of the posh areas of Bangalore. The root cause for the problem is vacant plots which have become garbage dumping places & houses for rats & other dangerous creatures like snakes lizards etc. & it is become mosquito hub. I would request the authorities to initiate necessary actions against the plot owners who have even bothered to fence it to avoid garbage dumping & not even bothered to visit the site once in a year to have it cleaned. There are many problems in the area like dog menace, roads are not cleaned properly, garbage is not collected properly & regularly, Road cuttings is not filled properly. I humbly request the authorities to kindly visit the area & take necessary actions to enable us live in this area in peace.

          Dear Sir,

          To

          The Commissioner BBMP
          Bangalore

          Sir,

Sub: Issues Regarding BBMP ARO at Ward No.40.
          ----
I regret to write the following few lines for your immediate action on the issues I have faced with Mr.Ramaiah ARO of Ward No. 40, Chandra Lay out Bangalore.

On 14th Mar’09 I had been to BBMP Ward. No.40, they misguided me to Ward No.39 and after that again I came to BBMP Ward No.40 when I asked for Form III (Green Form), they said its not available and after persuasion, the officer gave one green form to me and asked me to meet Mr. Ramaiah ARO on Sunday the 15th March’09

On 15th March’09 at 12.00 noon, I again went to BBMP ward No.40, to meet Mr.Ramaiah ( Tax Inspector) he made me wait for nearly 30 minutes and then he said get me the exact location of the Vacant Site and I tried to tell him what I knew about the site but in vain. Mr.Ramaiah and I visited the site and we returned to the BBMP office at Ward No.40, and after that he himself made a drawing and after submitting the prescribed fee of Rs.565/- (Rupees Five Hundred Sixty Five only) and the remaining change was not returned by Mr.Ramaiah and actually he has asked a sum Rs.500/- to be paid to him.

And the person who has entered the details in the system with the details mentioned in the Form III, but to my surprise I found that the details were not at all relevant to my site at Nagarbhavi and immediately rushed back to BBMP office to find that the officers have left. I took the Mobile number of Mr.Ramaiah, and I told him about the incident and he has asked me to come to BBMP office ward no.40 at 10.00 am.

And again I went on 16th March’09 to BBMP Ward No.40 to meet Mr.Ramaiah at around 9.30 am and he asked me to wait till 10.00 am as the computer operator has not come. And when he finally came at 10.00 am and I have told the problem they straight away refused saying that it’s not possible.

When I asked them to correct the form and give it they said it’s not possible, Mr.Ramaiah said that if the officer at BBMP office at Good Shed Road approves this I can correct and give it when I asked Mr.Ramaiah to give the form so that I can take a photo copy of the same he refused to give.

And finally he sent a person along with me to Xerox the same, as I have visited the site in the morning and I have found that the site no. given the previous day by Mr.Ramaiah was wrong (9), which I wanted to correct the same to No.14. But he abused me in bad language before others and told me that you can go and compliant to the Commissioner of BBMP, I am not bothered.

Then he finally sent a peon from his BBMP ward No.40 and giving some instruction in the regional language blaming and spoiling my image before everyone present in the room for not agreeing to pay any extra money which he asked for this job.

But on the contrary I saw in Deccan Herald dt.15th March’09, BBMP self proclaiming that the services are good which is absurd. For not yielding to the pressure of the BBMP ward no. 40, Mr.Ramaiah, Tax Collector, people like me have to go through a horrid time, hardships and meaningless efforts running from pillar to post a property tax to be paid to BBMP. My questions are:

          1. They have the form III but they refused to give to the customers.
          2. Dissemination of information with regard to filling the application in not done proper.
          3. Why we have to shell out extra money for filling the application for the tax paid properly.
          4. Why the system is not supporting and cannot be edited when wrong entries are made.
          5. I have my own doubt where my money is gone to BBMP or to the Tax Collector.

I request you to look in took the issues and take necessary action immediately failing which the undersigned will not hesitate to go the press or to the consumer court for the agony and shame I had gone through for the past three days.

          Thanking you,

          Yours faithfully,

          (Joy Harrin)

          Bangalore.

          Sir,
We the residents of Lingarajpuram, ward # 87 wish to state that in New Post Office Road, Lingarajpuram. Recently with the help of BBMP officials we removed the unused water tanks ( 2 Nos) from this locality. This dead end road has been encroached by one Mr. Srinivas BBMP health inspector by planting trees and plants around his house causing inconvinience to the residents of this locality and more over he is using the materials of BBMP like Divider Blocks And Concrete Slabs to plant these plants and trees. This dead end road has got only one approach road, at the beginning of the road only he has encroached and causing inconvinience to the residents of this locality. He is misusing the powers of BBMP by being a health inspector. Kindly look into the matter and help us in removing the plants and trees Sir. We all pray to execute the speedy removal of trees and plannts encroached by BBMP health Inspector Mr.Srinivas.

          Regards, Thanking you Sir,
          Lingarajpuram Residents Association.
I have moved from US back to Bengaluru a few months ago, I have very young infants and an elderly mother staying with me, I have a medium sized manufacturing plant in the city employing about 40 people, I live in ward No 89 Ramaiah Layout. E-F cross, there is a vacant site with a small shed inside next to my building that is a disturbance to all the people around, its have over grown parthenium and recently some people have rented it out and have started breeding dogs inside, this is become a source of trouble to me, I have repeatedly requested the owner to take action, he does not seem to understand, the people handling the business are not the talking types, they are very violent and noisy people, they threatened me and would get physical and abusive. I do not want to talk to them. I just want to know if by Law is it permitted to breed dogs in a residential area, what are the precautionary health and safety requirements laid out by the corporation. Can the corporation take action on the owner for allowing such an activity, I do not want to be troubled and feel threatened always.

          Thank you
          In anticipation

          (hope this letter works)

          Felix George.
          Hi Sir,

I recently moved to my new appartment in Kudlu main road. Here i see lot of pigs on road, as you might aware of "swine flu" across the world it would be good if you conduct a drive to take away all those pigs. recently i seen some officials came and try to catch pigs but they did not catch all of them, Its good if you can take some preventive actions which can help to avoid the problem from occurance.

          Appreciate your help.

          Thanks,
          Surya
          Dear Sir

We are residents of Domlur layout 7th cross. We are writing this letter to you with the hope that at least now some action will be taken.

As you will be well aware, Domlur layout has now become a largely commercial area with a lot of shops and hotels that have come up in places where there were residential houses. We have noticed that most of these establishments keep their premises very very clean. But unfortunately, most of the waste generated by these shops ( empty boxes, Plastic Covers, Vegetable wates etc) are dumped into the gutter. in addition to this, lots of mobile service providers too dig up the roads near their towers and the rubble is just thrown into the gutter. This, as you will agree, will block the flow of water during rains.

I would like to give a particular example of one shop in the layout - Family mall. The issue relating to the rubbish dumped into the gutter has been taken up with the house owner - He says he has made a mistake by giving out his terrace on rent to the mobile company. He cannot compalin aboout it now to them.
The shop has been continuously dumping all the garbage into the gutter. requests not to do so for the past six - eight months have notyeilded any result. This was brought to the notice of the ward office in Domlur. They have stated that action will be taken when the license comes to them for renewal - IS THIS WHAT WE NEED, AN ASSURANCE THAN AN ACTION?

Now this shop has also freely let all vendors in front of his shop and a vegetable shop just outside his shop. There is also a flower stall here. On the right side we will find a cobblers shop. Since there is a good coverage available due to this shop, most of these vendors use this place as a urinal. Several pleas to the owner of the shop has also fallen to deaf ears. All we get from them is a promise that it will not repeat and expectly - it repeats.

No pedestrian is able to use the footpath as there is no place to walk there. It is crowded with a cobblers shop, 4 foothpath vendors, a flower stall and a vegetalbe shop. Also the area stinks as the water is stagnating in the gutter due to the "Dont care" attitude of the shop owner. He is confident that nothing can be done to him by anyone.

Will we be able to see somebody address this issue and solve our problem or should we have to wait for some contagious outbreak for the action to begin.

          Regards
I am from Bismillah Nagar, off Bannerghatta Road, near Sagar Automobiles / Sagar Hospital, near Tavarakkere Park.

There is a stretch of land adjoining (almost 3 acres) Tavarakkare Park, belonging to the BBMP. If the original documents are checked in earnest, you will find it belonging to BBMP.

Off late there are many claimants to this land, which is otherwise being used as playground, bus parking and junk yard.

Since yesterday one Laxman (a land grabber in the locality) has marked a piece of the ground and put a board claiming injunction from civil court. Everyone in the locality know what type of person he is and the muscle power he has.
He has done similarly in parts near Bannerghatta Road.

He had earlier encroached a triangular shaped property of Corporation behind Christ School and sold to a set of Muslims in the locality with injunction from court.

There are also rumours that a group (two Muslims
and two Hindus) from Marathahalli are claiming ownership for the entire 3.5 acres

If BBMP does not take steps, it is going to lose 3.5 acres of prime land, which can be used as a park or play ground or a good parking lot for space choked Bangalore.
with reference to the shabby tarring work carried out i would like to draw the attention of the commissioner to sanjaynagar ward 100.Particularly the road right in front of the ward office and the one on the Raghavendraswami temple road. The road is just layered with a mixture of tar and jelly.where the size of the stone is big. As such it has already started causing erosion because it is not covered with fine gravel which is a must. I'm sure it will call for relaying very soon, which is a waste of money and filling the pockets of the contractor and a few officials.
          To

          The Commissioner BBMP
          Bangalore.

          Sir

I write to you from Pillegowda Layout near Ramachandrapur near Jalahalli (On the way to Vidyaranyapur). Our layout is lacking with basic amneties like road and sanitation. Garbage collection does not happen regularly. Due to this, we have problems always on our locality like senior citizen can not walk properly, stary dogs attacking people, sanitation water flows on road etc...
We have made several attempts to resolve this problem from last 6 years minimum, but there has been no actions so far. We have been paying house taxes regularly. Request your kind attention to look into this problem and help us to lead peaceful life.

I can be contacted on my mobile # [protected] incase of any clarifications at any point of time.

          Warm regards

Dear Sir, I am wrting to this infrom you that a few days I had lodged a complaint about poor state of roads in HSR Layout. This pertains to 27th main. From end to end of about 2.5km it is in bad state. Admittedly some widening work is in progress and the rate it which things are happening it is likley to take a long time for the project to complete. I had therefore requested to get the pot holes which are very deep to filled up in the interim. Based on this reuqest or may my discussions with various engineers some work has been done. i am sorry to mention that a most non professional work has been done in that some loose jelly has been used to fill up the pot holes. With evey vehicle passing over it the stones get thrown all over and the small stones will prove to be an excllent medium for two wheelrs to skid and the driving being far from being pleasant. This is jsut waste of money and labor. Could the authorities kindly instruct the concerned individuals to take corrrextive measures and do the pot holes up. Thanks and regards Narayanan
          Dear Sir

We are residents of B.D.A. Flats austin town. We are writing this letter to you with the hope that at least now some action will be taken.

As you will be well aware, When the buildings were under the care of B.D.A. it was maintaned well. with the buildings been painted with lot of changes. But since the time corporation has taken over. there is no importantance given. the building seems so bad outside with cracks, with broken window glasses. bad staircases. and waste garbage been thrown all over and filthy and just cannot pass by. We poor people cannot do anything about reparing the entire buidling. But yes you can do somethings about so that atleast we could live peacefully for another 10 yrs in the same building.

No pedestrian is able to use the footpath as there is no place to walk there because of the garbe, smelling just oposite the infant indian school. Also the area stinks as u pass by.

Will we be able to see somebody address this issue and solve our problem or should we have to wait for some contagious outbreak for the action to begin.

          Regards

          Hi,

I would like to bring up the horror situation at Bommanahalli signal and the 100 meter stretch before and after that signal. There is no traffic policing done at the signal (I mean there willl be one/two traffic police but they are not capable of controlling the traffic, due to the high traffic rate and vehicles move at all 4 directions without any control, creating chaos). All the private buses and BMTC buses stop vehicles at random places (sometimes at 45 degree, 60 degree, 90 degree angle to the main road and obviously creating hopeless situations) making it impossible to walk/drive and ITS DANGEROUS to walk there. Making the matter worse is the bad roads with lots of dust (this makes it very difficult for people who walk on the road/who wait for the buses). Its such a busy signal and I cannot believe that nothing has been done to improve the situation even a single bit (yes, I know that there is an excuse that they are constructing elevated highway till e-city, but that does not mean that the current situation should be left as it is). Why is it impossible to have a bus stop for BMTC/private buses and have them stop at the bus stop? Why is it impossible to stop these folks from jumping between main road and service lanes disrupting traffic? Why is it impossible to make private buses/BMTC/autos not stop (less than 100 meters) near the junction causing traffic jams? I can understand a bit of chaos during peak time of traffic, however even at 7AM in the moring, situation is no different. I think its sheer ignorance. If the traffic rules are imposed strictly, I dont see why these kind of situations should arise. Please do *something*. Have some traffic rules. And at least make people to follow them (obviously even a kid can understand that traffic rules are of no use, if nobody follows them). I see the traffic police shouting at these bus drivers to move their vehicles, instead they can fine them a few times to get things straight!! I am a bangalorean and am *disgusted* at the current situation all over the city and I am convinced that its mostly because of either no strict rules or people not following them and also cops not enforcing strict rules. Everything else is utter lame excuse in the name of the taxpayers money.
It is difficulty to walk through the footpath In the Maruthi nagar main road,

          Dear Sir,
I would like to bring to your kind notice that, the sanitary condition prevailing in my neighborhood is so bad and stinking that we are unable to bear the smell coming from it. It is found that the people residing in the building are throwing all the plastic and waste materials into the drainage and the entire drainage system is blocked now. Further the condition has become still worse now because some untrained persons have been hired to clear the drainage. They are instead of clearing the blockage by conventional method, digging the drainage and spilling the surrounding area with the stinking materials which has caused further misery and hardship to us.
Your immediate action is requested in this matter and suitable action may please be initiated against the owner of the site immediately. In spite of repeated complaints he has never taken any action to provide a permanent solution in this matter. It may be noted that Bangalore has already become a breading place for dengue and other diseases as reported from the media daily.
If immediate action is not taken, I have no other option except to report to the Commissioner BBMP for prompt action in this regard.

          Dear Sir,

I am a resident of Rathnavilas Road, Basavanagudi. From the past about 6 months, outsourced people come and do some sort of levelling the stones covered in the footpath. Even now, the same has not completed, to our surprise, whatever they have done looks very bad and dangerous, we can not stand on that as corners have been cut to pieces. They have not done the cementing inbetween two stone slabs.

Can any one look into it and get the same done early so that aged people and children can walk without fear.

          Thanks

          sir,
i am a resident of kodichikkanahalli, bomnahalli. i happen to travel in my car. i have come across a small problem which may seem silly for u. but please have the patience to view the problem from my side.
"hump" is a necessary part in indian roads, i agree. but yesterday i found a new one - actually two - in a road.the road is in srs nagar, vijaya bank lay out, off banarghatta road. there is this main raod into which lots of small roads are joining.and where ever a side road joins the main road, i found a hump in the main road.
as far as i know, when we are driving in a side road and want to enter a main road, we should stop and see whether there are vehicles in the main road and then enter. this will ensure that vehicles riding in the main road are not disturbed and safety also. if i am correct, the hump should be in the side road, not in the main road.that will be common sense.
as u can see the number of vehicles in the main road will be more compared with vehicles coming from the side road. so why to disturb the vehicles which dont use these side roads.
in bangalore, before we had to ride through gutter and thanks to u guys that lots of new roads are being constructed now. but still our cars need to suffer as they still need to ride over these unwanted humps. and waste of petrol also.
i have one more request. we were really happy to see new roads in bomnahalli area. thanks to u guys. u had done a very good job. but its so sad to see that, all those new roads are now being destroyed for some other work. all ur work and money are wasted.why cant they finish thier job before they put the road. little coordination and co operation will give nice results.
please consider my request. the problem may seem small and silly. but u will understand only when u have to drive on these roads daily.
          thanking you.
          yours sincerely
          vipina karthic.
I couldnt agree with you more about HAL 2nd stage. Equally bad is the 14th main road . the series of vacant plots after the New Horizon school. It is an open defecation ground for the huge slum that adjoins the subrahmanya temple on the 14th main rd. Illegal shops have come up on the plots as well. Repeated complaints to BBMP authorities have fallen on deaf ears.

Sub: Issues Regarding open sanitary systerm at ward No. 56. BSK 2nd stage, Yarabnagar

I regret to write the following few lines for your immediate action on the issues we are facing in Yarabnagar ( near Noorani Mosque) BSK 2nd stage, Bangalore-70.

As we are the resident of Yarabnagar last street near NOORANI MOSQUE, facing lots of problems due to inconvenient of drainaage system. The people of the locality are facing health problems like Chickenguniya, malaria, typhoid, and jaundice due many factors:
          1) Leakage of the sanitary and water lines and mixing together. By consuming this specially we the dead-end road people are facing many health problems.

          2) We need a larger drainage because the entire area's drainage water flows through our road drainage and the existing drainage is opened it is not closed and always it is filled with water sand and garbage...due to the polluted drainage specially we the resident of the road are facing lot of problems.

          3) Already there is a water pipe leakage in the road and blockage of sanitation. if we complained at BBMP office they are giving service but the problem is we need a permanent solution than the temporory

I request you to look in took the issues and take necessary action immediately. we are facing this problem since many years so kindly have a look and solve the problem as soon as possible.

          Thanking you,

          Yours faithfully,

The work of providing drainage water has come to a standstill for the last three months on the road leading to Yeshwantpur Columbia Asia Hospital along the railway tracks causing extreme inconvenience to motorists due to traffic jam as a result of throwing dug up earth on to the road.
I am resident of Anajaneya Nagar BSK III Stage. As you aware of this area is in between Ittamadu and AGIS Layout. We are facing lots of problems in the Ittamadu main road which passes through anjanyea nagar towards to Ittamadu/AGIS layout. I would request your kind attention towards rectifying these issues at the earliest.

          1. Drainage- There is no proper drainage in this road. Because of commercialization of the area we have one hospital, one hotel and few other commercial outlets. Recently BBMP have build a culvert near DG Hospital, but we really don't know whether there is any connectivity to this culvert. Now a days we see lot of water getting clogged adjacent to DG Hosipital.
          2. Street vendor -- The road from main road towards to ittamadu is a small road. We have seen lots of street vendors occupying both the sides of the roads. This further reducing the road width. In fact there is no proper footpath for pedestrian.

May I request your kind attention to resolve the above issues? Water clogging may lead to disasters like Dengue and other epidemics.

          Respected Sir,

Subject: "THIS IS REGARDING ASTALAKSHMI LAYOUT 1ST MAIN ROAD JP NAGAR AFFECTED WITH FLOODED RUNNING WATER BY PUTTENHALLI LAKE"

Astalakshmi layout, JP Nagar 6 phase is low laying is one of the badly effected with the 'mori' (open drain), when ever its rains the mori over flooded and it make living so pathetic, whole street is covered with running drain water up to a feet which is coming from puttenhalli lake, every year relief works are announced at regular intervals but rarely taken up, it is even more rare to them completed.

This is low laying astalakshmi layout, it has 3 lanes runs parallel with many houses. But 1st main road is facing pathetic problem with flooded running water on road, blocked drains, mosquito menace and bad smell. Since the sewages line is blocked since 2 yrs, most of the sewage lines are connect to open ‘mori’ as the result mosquito, bad smell, affecting the health of all residence.

Due to this problem small kids and old age senior citizen unable to come out of there houses. The local BBMP officials visited the area couple of times promise to starts relief work, but nothing starts.

Today due to heavy rain drain water have entered in most of the low laying houses in 1st main road.

I Request you to please take this matter as priority and do need full as earlier as possible.

          Hello Commissioner,

I live on 80 feet road in Indiranagar / Kodihalli.WARD NO 74. Though the width of 80 feet road tapers down to a mere 8 feet here. The road is always prone to accidents & jams since only one vehicle can pass through at a time. This area needs immediate attention before any serious mishap happens since accidents are common here due to the width of the road. Also for the residents of the apartment Maruthi Paradise the area has also become a health hazard since a vacant site (which needs to be used to widen the road) has become a garbage dumping yard & also a lot of people are using the same as a public toilet. Request your immediate attention on this since this area is in the heart of the CITY & a stone's throw away distance from Leela Palace.

          Thanks & Regards

          Dear Sir,

I bring to your kind consideration that, My family reside in the.In front of our house is one vacant plot and house where People come and throw their garbage in front of this vacant house. This garbage is not removed daily, it is in fact removed once or twice in a week. The contractor is not spraying bleaching powder after the garbage is removed. This garbage is creating Air pollution and health problems as well as spoiling the residential atmosphere.

No BBMP official is either inspecting nor monitoring this. Because of the pungent smell emigrating from this garbage we are not able to open our windows for fresh Air and for proper ventilation. As we have small childrens and elder’s their health’s are also getting affected by this.

Hence I request you to kindly take action on this and to save our health and as well as our children’s health by shifting this garbage dump permanently to some other area.
          Thanking you sir,
          Yours faithfully,

          Sir,

There is a vacant site with a small shed inside next to my building that is a disturbance to all the people around. The owners have rented it out to a family of 6. There are no basic aminities like water and toilet. The place is very dirty with stagnant water and garbage . This has become a source of trouble to me and people around for the last 7 years. I have repeatedly requested the owner to take action, he does not seem to understand, the people living are very arrogant as they have the support of the owners and are not the talking types, they are very violent and noisy people. I do not want to talk to them. I just want to know if by Law, is it permitted to just have a small shed in a residential plot with no basic aminities like water and toilet and have people live there much against the wishes of the neighbours. What are the precautionary health and safety measurments laid out by the corporation ?. Can the corporation take action on the owner for allowing such an activity, I do not want to be troubled and feel threatened always.

Kindly let me know by Law, what are the rights of the neighbours and can such things be prevented. I would also request you to take action against all the site owners indulging in such activities.

          Warm regards
          Dear Sir,

I am residing at j P Nagar IInd phase 9th c main, 9th cross, near the land which is in hearing ( belongs to Central Library) the whole area is dumpped by garbage and wastes and no body is taking responsibility to clean it. it is an open restroom for all slum people residing here. Residents throw garbage in that open area which is porne to many diseases.. inspite of me reminding them they are not heeding. Request you to to immediate action on it since the land belongs for social cause and maintain it properly till we get final decison.

Thanks in Advance and awaiting for positive response.
I am staying in kaggadassapura and i take the mallespalaya road to reach the old airport to go to office daily. this road is very bad and to make the matters worse there has been now there has been holes dug in 2 places which covers half of the road each. The traffic too is very high so it would be easy for us to travel if the road is much better.

          Respected sir,
Kindly refer to my previous letter dated 27/08/09 (attested with this letter).
Inspite of me insisting that I do not want a window touching my site,
my neighbour has done that. I want you to inspect his plan and take immediate action against him. I have obliged against my wishes to build a wall touching my building.
Taking undue advantage of that he has placed a glass window which I strongly object on the same extended portion.
Why has no action been taken till now?? Has anybody checked if he has constructed the building as per the sanctioned plan??
Since no positive action has been taken in this matter until now I am forwarding a copy of this letter and my previous letter to the Commissioner and to the BBMP vigilance department.

          Sir

There is stormwater drain clearance and concreting happening in front of my house currently. It came to light when the drain covers were removed that the house directly facing the side entrance of my house has its sewage flowing directly into the drain. The BBMP chief engineer had given them two warnings to get it connected to the chamber, two months back. They had not bothered to do so. Morover, their toilet stands on the drain itself encroaching on to the slabs. Now, they are harassing the workers who have come to clear the drain and not allowing them to do their job of closing their sewage connection. Last month when the heavy rains lashed the city, the entire drain water of sewage came gushing into our house. Please ensure that their sewage connection into the drain is closed or connected to any chamber.
We dont see any initiative from BBMp to repair this road. For 5 min drive we normally spend hours to reach EGL...
          Pls do something...
I am residing at 220, 10th Main Nagendra block, BSK I stage, Bangalore 50. Nagendra block comes under Srinagar ward. The complaint is there was a big tree on 10th main, Nagendra block, No. of branches were in a damaged condition and whenever there was rain and thunder, the branches use to fell on the over head lines and also on the road causing road blocks and inconvenience to the public. After getting necessary permission from the Forest dept, the tree was completetly cut and axed. The entire leaves of the big tree are scattered on the road and despite our requests to the cleaning contractor to clear the debris no action has been taken so far. Due to the rain, the debris are decaying and has become a mosquito breeding centre and creating health hazard to all o[censored]s. Kindly therefore direct the concerned official to clear the debris scattered on the entire stretch of the road.

          Sir,

I am residing in 5th Cross, shankarappa layout / Kalappa Layout of Basavanagar, Vibhuthipura, Marathahalli Post, Bangalore. Recently road work has taken up in the area and all the cross road have been metalled for asphalting (for putting tar) except the 5th cross. Understand from the contractors that the work has been taken up for cross road by one contractor and main road by another contractor. The contractor for main road metalled the road from basavanagar main road through tata sherwood apartments till the 5th cross shankarappa layout and left the 5th cross untouched. The cross road contractor have metalled all the cross road in basavanagar leaving the 5th cross.

Don't know why the contractors have left the 5th cross unmetalled. for no reasons of the residents of 5th cross, they have been deprived of tar road. Hope the authorities will see that the said 5th cross is not neglected and the same is also tarred.

Road cutting is not properly filled (beside mangalore condiments shop). Since road is NOT LEVELLED properly and with lot of potholes, water gets pooled in front of houses and paves way for mosquito breeding inturn leading to many viral infections to residents. Problem becomes severe during rainy season .

we are residents of avalahalli new bda layout bsk 3rd stage bangalore 85 & for the past many months we have pleading to have speed breakers installed in our area as our area is very accident prone & our children are not able to play freely.we have already had a lot of accidents in our area & from time to time we informed the concerned people including the asphalting tar people to put the speed breakers but to no avail hope immediate action is taken as regards the above issue.
          thank you
          Respected Sir,

Sub: Request for Speed Breaker at kaggadasapura, main Road, 3rd Cross, Opp.
Smart Cars (Maruthi) service center AND City Super MARKET, Due to speeding, dangerous driving (accidents) and overtaking as this stretch of road really becomes accident prone area.

Kaddagasapura Main road has become a commercial hub today with lots of shops and hotels’ mushrooming every day. This has caused lots of traffic congestion in the area with motorist playing from both directions on this road at high speed as there is no speed breaker on this stretch of road, thereby posing a threat to the lives of pedestrians, school going children and elders crossing the road.
It is difficult to cross the road at any given time as the entire stretch of road is narrow(less then 50ft) with vehicles parked at both sides of the road. Local people are forced to cross the road, even as vehicles speed flouting all traffic rules.

There are accidents happening every week, some of them life threatening.
With this cause in mind we the residents of Kaggadasapura request you to put up speed breakers at critical points.

One such critical point and recurring accident area is
          KAGGADAPURA MAIN ROAD, 3rd cross,
opp. SMART CARS SERVICE CENTER and
in front of City Super MARKET on the same road.

This is regarding the garbage collector vehicle which was supposed to come and collect the garbages from all the houses every day. But unfortunately this vehicle bearing Reg No. 1968 is never seen in our road. He always comes only once in a weak or 10 days. This way it is creating a lot of problems to the whole road, and it starts stinking everywhere. As this is my first and hopefully last complaint to you. Please try to solve this issue as soon as possible and oblige.

I am writing this from 7th cross muninanjappa layout rammurthy nagar Bangalore. The stretch of close to 250 meters road in 7th cross are in a horrible & pathetic stage. street road next lane been done tar every where but nothing has happened in our lane which is just 10 meters away. all the residents of this lane are facing a very tough time walking riding & driving. lot of dust keep accumulating in our houses & find difficult drying cloths outside. since our lane is in between two main roads, lot of commutors use it extensively as short cut. I humbly request you to please lay proper tar roads in this lane unlike other lanes in that area. This will bring a lot of relief to many people..

          Thanks & Regard

Refund for a power cut? Yes, it’s true

Did you know that BESCOM's power cuts are subject to scrutiny by the state's electricity regulator and the rules allow for penalties to be paid to consumers? Read on.

Power cuts are again the talk of the town since Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM) declared a minimum two hour cut in all the residential areas in the city. “Is it really only two hours?” is what my colleague Gayathri S asks me. She gets a power cut of six to eight hours every day since the declaration of power cut was done by BESCOM.

My colleague lives in Venkatapura, Koramangala. She complains o[censored]ntimely power cut of more than six hours a day disturbing routines. When we checked, we found that she is not the only one suffering from this kind of power cuts. Residents of Anjananagar, Vidyaranyapura, Green Park Layout, ISRO Layout, Yelahanka, Hebbal, RT Nagar, Siddapura, Puttenahalli and Ramamurthynagar and more are also affected by long hours of irregular power cuts.

But all o[censored]s facing power cuts tend to rant about the inconveniences and stop there. This is because we do not know that in such cases we are entitled to get a refund of Rs.50 from BESCOM, according to the code set by the Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission (KERC).

The KERC is the Karnataka's electricity regulator and monitors electricity supply companies throughout the state, including BESCOM. KERC makes certain guidelines, rules and codes which are mandatory to be followed by the companies. One of the clauses of the Grid Code of KERC, clause number 4.6.3(i), mentions that power cut of more than two hours in any part may be termed as a “Distribution System Failure” and is entitled to get a refund of Rs.50 from BESCOM.
          Grid Code of KERC
          Grid Code of KERC
          Pic: Grid Code of KERC

At the same time, the KERC has a table declaring the “Standards of Performance and Amount to be Paid for Default in each case.” This table clearly mentions that a refund of Rs.50 needs to be given for the following conditions also:

          * Normal fuse off if not repaired within six hours
          * Line break downs not fixed within six hours (or 10 hours is the poles are broken down)
          * Voltage variations not attended within seven days

There are many more such conditions. Everyone can find at least one suiting his trouble.

One citizen who decided to pursue BESCOM for the statutory refund money is C H Ram, an RTI user from Koramangala. His area, ST Bed Layout saw a power cut of more than 20 hours on 29th April this year. Pained by the trouble, he filled an application with the Additional South Division, BESCOM in the month of May. The PIO for that office is B Krishnappa. Ram did not get a reply.

“Not getting the response made me file an RTI application against asking for the report of action taken on my earlier application, ” explains Ram. He filed the RTI application on 10th July. His RTI application was also not answered.

Ram then appealed to the Karnataka Information Commission. Ram is now waiting for the hearing scheduled for 1st December. “I hope at least there BESCOM reacts, ” adds Ram.

Many of you may wonder why we should bother so much for a mere amount of Rs.50 per consumer. You may also wonder why Ram should fight so much over BESCOM’s silence on the matter.

But there lies the key: Rs.50 per person in a locality where thousands of homes are hit by outages and across several localities could very quickly add up to a large refund amount – crores of rupees -- for BESCOM to shell out. If this is enforced, it could make BESCOM rethink or manage its affairs better.

Members of the Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission could not be reached for comment, despite repeated attempts.

Citizen Matters will track this story, and in the meantime, consumers, start marking the hours for which power is cut in your homes. ⊕
          Sir,
The road which leads to Shantinekatan school in Bilekahalli is so pathic with the roads been dug up both sides with a two way traffic, with school buses jammed etc. Also the road leading to the school is a Garbage dump which is not cleared, it is so very dirty and unhigenic for the children and residents who have to walk through the gabbage to get to school.

May I request that action is taken on clearing the garbage dump from the school area.

Sub: Demand of bribe by BBMP employees.

I am the owner of the premises No.8, 5th. Cross, Vannerpet layout Bangalore 560047.

          2. Consequent to asphalting of the sanitation chambers at different points in the locality, the sanitary pipe lines are not maintained regularly and frequently getting blocked leading to nuisance to the residents. I registered my complaint on 15.7.2010 with the service centre at Austin Town. Thereupon, some persons employed as santitation workers by the BBMP visited my house on 20.7.2010 and demanded Rs.1000/- to do the work. My husband spoke to one certain Venkatesh over the phone and requested receipt. Mr.Venkatesh promptly replied that no receipt will be given and justified that it is the amount usually collected by the workers for such work. Evidently, it is the bribe what the workers demanded. Therefore my husband refused to pay the bribe. This angered Mr.Venkatesh and the entire group walked off along with him without providing the service.

Please state what action you would like to initiate in this regard.

          Thanking you,

road condition in austin town — road condition

          dear sir,
this is sunitha student of st ' joseph's college residence of old cement line austin town
i want to inform you that the government has put the new cement road after a long long year i was so happy but now the residence have destroyed by digging the holes so i kindly request you to put new road and make some rules so that they wil not do it again
this is my kind request to you
i will be happy if you do that so
i want my environment to be clean
The Maruti Nagar stretch through BTM layout from Koramangala is a bad and narrow road with chaotic traffic on both sides. And to add to this, people lack the civic sense and park their vehicles making the road narrower. Today there was a truck that was parked, which blocked the road completely and while trying to avoid it, it damaged my car. Are these the conditions that a citizen gets for paying his taxes on time? Why can't we have patrolling on such roads where people who park their cars have their cars towed away? Moreover, the road cleaners also leave their carts right in the middle of the road making it more difficult for vehicles to move. As much as we claim we are a great country and growing economy, the barbaric and primitive behavior of our people tells a different story. I know I am wasting my time raising this complaint, because I am not sure who is even going to listen and take action.
          Dear Sir,

I am Manjunath Raykar, Retired Scientist, resident of House No 20, ward No. 74. at 8th main, 1st G-Cross, 4th Block, 3rd Stage Basaveswaranagar Bangalore. south of my house Garbage are thrown by Rajeeva Ghandhi slum dwellers. Earlier there was a point of garbage collection at the slum, During the concrete Road formation, People start throwing the garbage at the site and irrespective of complaining about this to our Corp-orator Mrs Padmavati Srinivasan. they are not bothered to look into this, when I approach, They call the contractor & tell, He accepts and go and finally nothing happence. This looks like a game between them. This is happening since few months. Either they send the garbage collectors inside the slum nor they identify a place in slum to keep the slum dwellers garbage.

We are not able to bear the smell & passers by also facing problem by this. This is health hazardous deed & Our Corp orator are not bothered about it.
I hope you give due attention & inform the concerned corporate to look into the problem.

          Thanking you sir,

          Regards

Due to no proper drainage System, the roads in 10th Main, 8th Cross Maruthinagar, Malleshpalya are flooded with Drain water. Drain water has been seeping inside the houses and Apartments aswell. If the situation continues, water-borne diseases would spread in the area.
Chaitanya School is also on the same road. Children are also facing the problem.
