This is to inform you that my bill for the month of august 2017 is 8140.00 which is highly inappropriate as we have been away for the entire month and there has been no electricity used. Furthermore, our average monthly bill over the past 2 years has been about rs:650.

There might be some issue with the meter reading, and i request you to kindly look into this problem and resolve it at the earliest.

    You company mail ed meter
    The read date scheduled to be read on 23/9/2017 saterday but we the people understand that hear from other your people can to read on sunday ie 24/9/2017 and on billing there is mentioning previous day or 24/9/2017 it was happed 6/8 months back mentioned above. Your company should have control over your people regarding this complaint. Due to rate of different slab charges may vary and effect on bills. If don't take any action otherwise no alternate to customer like me to take legal proceedings.

      Consumer no [protected] i have been getting 1140₹ every month. Even though i was out for 15 days. Every particular same bill is being generated. No one is care about reading no body comes to chek the meter every month. Every one is facing the same issue. When i call the toll free they tell the same thing its on average no one is bothered to correct it. Please have a look at it.

          There was a fault at the meter fuse box at our premises 141/1, kankulia rd, golpark, kolkata-29, on 16/09/17 late night, the fault was reported to cesc & was attended in the morning of 17/09/17 on temporary basis keeping a loose bare fuse wire wrapped on the wires connected to meters. All in bare exposed condition. The cesc personnel told us that this would be rectified permanently shortly, but till date this has not been done properly, we reported again to cesc complain dept & the following docket nos were issued.

                I had paid the august, 2017 bill of rs 570/- for the customer id [protected] (Sudipta basu & manasi basu) on 17/09/2017 through paytm vide their operator reference number 17091708203304000674908041361470920817500000000696, & it was shown successful payment, but still i could not have the payment receipt from your website. Within the day, i complained paytm regarding that & after verification they have informed that the payment was successful, they've also given the above operator reference number to take the matter with you. So it's requested to verify the above & send the payment success receipt to my registered email address please.

                  Respected sir/ madam,

                  This is to inform you that we have been charged rs.1690 for 243 unit for the month of august. This is quite an inappropiate amount as we don't use that much of electricity, most of the appliances remain off a refrigerator throughout the day, as we are working and we return home at night from work. There aren. Y any heavy appliances like tv, ac, geaser, heater etc in our house. And this is not for this month we are receiving such inaaproprite bills for last 8-9 months. It would be very kind of you if you will have an inspection of meter or records.

                  My due date is 21/09/2017.

                  What should i do under this circumstances? Should i make this payment? Please suggest something.

Recently we are finding that if cesc bill is paid through paytm then additional discount would be given. Our queries are (A) whether the part or full amount of this additional discount is being provided by cesc or this additional discount is being provided by paytm? (B) if cesc has any contribution in this discount then why only for payment through paytm and not for all other similar agencies? (C) all online paying consumers do not have the provision for making payment through paytm and why they are getting deprived.

                      Very slow process of working. People responsible do not even know their work properly and only want to get rid of their work. No initiative on the officials end to get the work done. No respect for peoples time. Non informative unless the customer clarifies the topic and only then the official responds correctly. Robots would work better then them.

                        Today 16/9/17. I have paid my bill for the month of Aug '17 through cesc online portal. The money Rs 5080 has been debited to my bank account but I still have not received any SMS from CESC stating that payment has been received. Kindly look into the matter and let me know the status of my transaction.

                        Given below is the SMS from my bank :

                        "Hello! Your a/c no ******0349 has been debited by Rs 5080 on[protected]. The a/c balance is Rs 20323.44.Info: INB/[protected]/CALCUTTA ELECTRIC SUPPLY C"

                          Hi, my name is sri nemai chand dey. I am a senior citizen and a retired bank officer. I live in kasba region in kolkata city, west bengal, india. Recently i have been a victim of a dirty corruption of our electricity board. Therefore i am raising complaint against them to solve the matter.
                          The name of our electricity board is cesc (Calcutta electric supply corporation). They usually send people to check the meter reading for every individual month and on basis of that report they generate the bill monthly and this is the process in general except in this august of 2017, nobody came from the electric supply for the meter reading process and all of a sudden the electric bill came. When i checked the bill i was shocked because the usage unit they have mentioned in the bill and therefore the total payable amount is abnormally high and a little strange too. Then i checked my 2016's august bill and got shocked. They have send the exact same amount o[censored]nit usage in both 2016 and 2017's august. For your information, in last year august, my son's marriage took place. Apparently the consumption was high therefore in 2016 august than the normal usage because my relatives and guests came and stayed at my house for a week during that period so it's not possible that the same amount of consumption will happen this year also since last years consumption was not normal usage than this year. I have got 2 meters in my house one is in my name and another is in my wifes. There are 2 floors in my house and the meter for the ground floor is in my name and it is barely in use for decades since we have moved from ground to top floor and eversince we are using the meter which is in my wife's name as primary meter since my top floors connection is from that one. The assumed reading the mentioned in the bill for both the meters are wrong. As i have checked the total reading of the meter in my name from 1st august till 12th september is only 26 units so i suppose it will be much less till 31st august as that is the main billing period. There are some usage slab there. For example for first 25 unit @ 4.89 rs, for next 35 unit @ 5.40 rs and so on. Now, the unit price rises up after each and every slab. So unnecessarily i am l liable to pay a higher unit price despite of non usage. I have attached the break up detail along with this mail. Naturally i immediately contacted cesc via phone call and the woman answered me said that due to heavy rain occured in the month of august, we couldn't send anyone to read meter in your neighbourhood. Therefore, we have checked your meter reading history of august 2016 and generated the current bill of august, 2017 by assuming that this is your usual electric consumption of august month every year. Although, we all went to our regular work during this rainy season which comes in all over india and it comes every year but i beleve the entire kolkata city would have been flooded away by this time now, based on the amount of rain took place she was trying to project for the cause and they couldn't come due to same. There is absolutely no logic behind this and i beleve this is all but hateful corruption. As durga puja, the biggest festival of bengal is taking place in september this year, i assume they did this deliberately to withdraw some extra money from consumers to give durga puja bonus to their employees. I feel this is a clear matter of another corruption amongst many and as a senior citizen it is my duty to raise voice against it. I have attached images of my current electric bill and the bill of august, 2016 as well so that you can compare it. I am extremely agitated by the irrational behaviour from cesc overall especially the way the women spoke to me over the phone. I felt that extremely unprofessional.
                          I hope i could make my points clear to you and i will wait for your sincere cooperation to solve the matter.

                                The average consumption is absolutely wrong and does not make any sense. So please provide us the contact no / email address so that we can write to your company notifying the actual meter reading which is nil. Also it is not understandable why the average is not taken from the same months from previous year. No one stays there so the overcharges should be adjusted.

                                Hi i am pronoy gopal panda from 298 purbalok, 4th floor kalikapur, kolkata 700099. We don't live in that flat for about 10 to 11 months of the year. Usually we spend month and a half during december or january. I am totally lost why and how your company averages some units in metre reading every month. Please look into the trend o[censored]sages at your disposal to understand the point i am trying to bring across. Also send me the email or phone no so that we can sms or ring you the actual meter reading. Unfortunately it's very hard to speculate when the metre reader will hard. Please do the needful, because we are paying for nothing for the services not provided.

Here i would like to inform that my flat is being vacant since last five months but this month my electricity bill has come rs.990/-, last four months i have consumed zero unit but suddenly this month i have consumed 193 units which is totally unimaginable by me. Here i have also noticed that same month of 2016 the bill is showing the 193 units i had consumed. My assumption is that no physical meter reading has been done for last month, it's has been simply done cut copy and paste. Please do the needful. I have already paid the billed amount but looking for clear clarification from proper authority of cesc department.
